Bounty Hunter System

I'd just like to offer a suggestion of a bounty hunter system.


For example you could have a similar system to the old auction, You put the reward in the NPC then put the players name in you would like to put the hit on.

When the player successfully carries out their hit (pk's them) this will read the PK feed and if completed their mission successfully will return to the NPC to collect their reward.

Also if you complete a certain amount of hits say within a week or a specific time period you are rewarded with "bounty hunter status" which carries an additional item reward.

I think this idea can improve PVP and may be able to bring back those players who are bored and wanting something to do.

Great idea!

Might need to put a restriction on to maybe put a bounty on only once a month or something per person tho.

Could be good for guilds working together too, a bit like capture the flag protecting the bounty

Hmm, I'd imagine this system being very susceptible to abuse. There are some people that might just want to sacrifice their K/D ratio for the reward.

Not so sure about the additional reward, people would abuse it for the extra goodies, but maybe if it was something cosmetic, maybe a different coloured name or something along them lines it could work well.

Only downside is the "hits" would have to be on someone who really cares about the KD... Otherwise they will just log another char themselves and pick up free reward

Player 1 Puts a reward of a large ruby (drags from his inventory to npc) for a successful hit of player 2

Player 3 (The Hitman) will see the current hits in NPC and will choose to accept the hit that Player 1 is rewarding with a large ruby (Other hitmen are able to accept the same mission so the hitman who kills them first gets the reward.

The reward is coming from Player 1's personal items, And He is willing to sacrifice a large ruby for this demonstration purposes to see Player 2 on the pk feed.

So i am not sure how this could be abused considering its from the person's personal items. I think perhaps i didn't state this clearly :P

The way this works in EVE is 2 ways:

1. High lvl player places large bounties on random nubs to troll them, making it not fun for nubs to hunt
2. People place bounties on players head that then dies by a friend or alt to rake in the $$

It's a fun idea either way just it is very easy to circumvent the intention.

Yea anyone could die to their alt and take the bounty effectively you're just giving your items away
It would be awesome idea if it could work without said abuse though

Sounds like a simple way to resolve this make it so that person who puts the hit out has to accept/approve the person wanting to take out the hit. That way they can check if it is genuine or not.
