I personally find f12 hilarious when I do log on but I can see why it would be looked down upon, I also agree with carnage the reason to PK has been ripped out of the game, I suggest removing Resi's now you can't drop items on death from mobs, I think you can drop items on PK still? and then every time they all want to have a scrap they have to think twice I almost guarantee 50% of the Ego's you see on world chat will never touch PVP again or atleast after they realise they suck at it and now have 10% pen in 3 minutes, outside the box idea I know but guarantee it sorts out the toxic people who hide behind resi's, knowing if they start a row they can just revive np.

Make gvw at same time and stop that sharing for both sides, who playing dsoma for years and then few of hsoma world log for 1 day per week and he want to change everything been annoying islyver and the same for hsoma, dont let both side the easy way mix toghether. Just an idea should solve something maybe.

One way to curb over the top pking is make guards announce a PK has taken place, and the offender to show up on players maps for 10 minutes or so, with a reward from Head of Town for killing them, maybe POS etc. which can be traded in a store.

Get people actively hunting PKers :P

Almost like a bounty? This has been mentioned in ideas & suggestions, and I think the general conclusion was that people wouldn't care about their KDR and just abuse the system out of rewards. Although I think it's a good idea :)

"CUPID"China don't sell any more for cash. Dan keeps a close eye on that I'm sure. There a good asset to have. They keep the market stocked with items that u can trade. No1 else has the bosses on farm like them. Don hate on them now for being super productive boss farmers. :)


Fair points. But more so the point that they pretty much got away with it. Probably more to it than that. And items weren't recalled for deletion from illegal trading that were not on chars that got banned. This is aimed at all illegal traders not specific players btw. I'm trying to be 100%neutral here.

Many points made, so here's mine.
People complained about my global, yet it has never been abusive or foul mouthed or vulgar. It's usually responding to others 90% of the time.
Last night however, I saw a particular character (we all did online) who carried on having a go at Matty and VK for 2-3 hours that I saw, with very little breaks. That's just too ridiculous for words last night, for sure abuse.
I find global funny most of the time, but last night was an exception. I'd take action there and more than just removing chat. Not surprised to see isylver so angry at it.

To sum up...

Angel and Devil etc only can global.
Immunity to 1 hour to allow a bit more time for people killing/being killed to chill and think. Maybe 2 even (still too much bragging rights about killing others etc atm, which brings me to...
Remove PK feed and KD as has also been suggested in this thread.

The real problem with global is the same as with PKing. People go overboard. Before the changes when I let people go Devil, DL members have killed me 15-20 times one after the other. They don't know when to stop, they never will because of who they are irl. Low life people always will, they know no better. They will never change.
The above is a lot of work for the GMs and they shouldn't have to do it, so...

Perma ban anyone killing more than 50 times in a week (most of these are guild bikes anyway).
Why do we want shared guild characters on here who are only used to PK others and ruin people's gameplay?

Another way....
Safe zones for all top end mobs.
5 levels PK difference.
Easiest 2 ways right there at a guess.

As for bad global, I would only suggest longer/permanent bans after warnings for those responsible, not just turning their chat off.
Also that vile Matthew Haydock or w/e inspired word. About time a ban was issued for that being used as well. Just ridiculous.

I thought i posted earlier but cant find my post.

I think reducing pk range to 10

increasing pk from 2-4

increase cooldown to 1 hour

i also added in suggestions where people can risk having no pk cooldown for higher reward from hunting.
so if you do get killed alot you chose it urself by opting for better drops and no protection.

pretty sure there would be no whining if these came in. as it cant be fun to 3 shot people 20 lvl's below you with mega fast weps and high att stuff. but again if they opt for better drops then they are exempt from lvl range and can be pk'd but keep the pk cooldown part

What's the point in these pk reductions? Two weeks from now people will still be crying and further nerfs will happen, why not just remove PK completely and we can all endlessly grind on mobs with nothing "fun" to do.

The more they nerf PvP the more this server seems to get carebear, would of been a much better place if half of the 5% carebear population quit and we were still left with a 200 UC server.

With every PK nerf more and more people who play Soma the way it was designed quit.

How long until Dan/Fin decide to pull the plug when they're left with a 20 UC server and it becomes easier to just play farmville together while having a "Myth of carebears" WhatsApp group.

i said about increasing the Pk at a time limit o_O with a slight increase to the duration between pk.

Reducing the range is purely because how fun is it for the PK'R aswell as the person being pk'd if they 2-3 shot someone. all this would do is stop immature people from griefing players who only want to lvl up.

you could always use a lower character and try to pk.

and you skipped the point of what i said on the other subject i posted before in flag type in idea section. where if someone flags for better drops you can pk all day long. and if they flag and are more than 10 lvl below u can still pk them but with the 4pk rule applying to them.

True your nerf suggestions weren't much at all , but we should be headed in the other direction. We need to bring PK back in all its glory. The server is struggling (Gms are trying to do what they think is needed by catering to the carebears) but its killing the server further.

Mutiny DSoma and DL/VK Hsoma are pretty much the last surviving PvP players/guilds. (don't know enough about Espada to comment on them)
(these along with Koreans must make up a big chunk of the active user count)

Imagine further nerfs to Pvp that end up making DL/VK/mutiny quit, you'll be left with a handful of Hsoma players, and 5-6 active Encore / Korean players on Dsoma.

How long until they decide its not worth playing a dead server and Gms are running a server for 15-25 people?


Just my opinion but Gms should have no place at all in Ingame politics, its been said loads of times in the past, even Dan/ghost said themselves that they would have no part in politics when the 2 pk rule came in, it's not at all good for the server.

The above shouldn't be seen as slating the Gms, they do an amazing job in the running/upkeep of the server and the amount of time they've kept soma alive should be applauded (with the test server + this server we're talking a very, very long time)

Since the GMs don't have any real time in game they're left with the heavily bias posts coming from care bears, which is really the only sort of information they're given in terms of making a major change (or so I assume ;o)

You aren't wrong, the carebears always make sure their opinions are heard on forums constantly while the PvP players just show their displeasure with nerfs by leaving the server.

The Gms aren't to blame as from what I've seen over the years only a select few PvP based players voice opinions on forum (I've seen from guild chats and WhatsApp groups some players don't think they will be listened to so don't bother posting others fear bans for disagreeing with upcoming changes Gms want to implement - to cater to carebears)

Gms can only make changes based on the feedback they are given tho (these carebear changes are not simple fixes and they must take many hours of work to implement) but in reality they are killing the server.


What I don't understand is: Dan/Fin don't play soma, they want the soma community to survive (no matter how childish/toxic we are to one another) surely the best way to keep a server alive is to keep your player base happy,

If they listen to feedback (use 2 pk rule as an example) instead of putting X amount of hours into implementing it, why not work out quickly if it would be possible to add to the server, then put it down to a community vote. This way the community as a majority decides if its a good thing to have Ingame, and if not it saves the Gms many hours implementing it... Rather than adding it based on a few carebears complaining then not even letting the community decide if they want it or not (ofcourse the Gms are going to want to add it after they've spent X hours getting it to work Ingame)

perhaps another way would be removing the 2pk rule and change it for this:

player A wants to go about pk'n

IF player B goes back to vod they can still be pk'd in this map.
Leaving it upto player B if they wish to risk PK and go back to vod blg or goto abais blg for an hour of pk free hunting. this was thought of to stop potential grief. so no'one could complain to a gm about pk as they can goto another map for pk free hunt for a period of time. if they get attacked in abias. they can warp and goto vod.

This could be a much better way around the current pk dilemma that people go on about.

This effectively allows all open pk BUT enforces the following from spawn to spawn rule.

I feel your missing the point, there should be no following spawn to spawn rule in the first place.

The game was designed with a very very harsh PvP system, even with no PK immunity or spawn to spawn following this would still be carebear compared to the way this game was designed
