Hello.
Apologise if this has been done to death but im juat being lazy and curious to people's knowledge/experience about Character stats. A conversation sparked up which in short went along the lines of if you dont just go pure bow/dex then effectively your character is crap in relation to PVP. So i was curious to understand, why is everything always about dex? Is dex a stand alone stat after 172 str? If what's the approx cap for dex at 120, and at what difference in dex between players is deemed superior? Such as... is someone never going to hit you if you have 20 more dex? How good is accuracy increases on armour and can this counter balance someone who has chosen to focus on dex vs someone who hasnt? Personally ive always had the idea of building a "Tanky" character with the intentions of capping STR with high INT and dex reasonable to be able to still hit people with the hopes of having accuracy added (obviously end game plans) But the general theme across soma is that your character is pretty much obsolete if you dont go down the high dex route. How true is this?? Sorry for such a long winded post... but im playing again after a long time away and trying to understand what's worth while heading toward. Thanks Ghaz.

Most stat builds can be mitigated for a weakness, dex included.
That said, there is a bonus to keeping strength and dex within 10 of each other which bow is excellent at. |

You cant cap str and int anymore since the new patch

Dex doesn't really have any downsides an str focused character will have trouble hitting and a mage can't cast. It's the best offensive and defensive stat, always has been.

A pure bow character will be as limp as pure strength or pure intelligence, dexterity is the best supporting stat, allowing mages to cast and melee characters to hit whilst being hit less. The most powerful build would, IMO be a high dexterity high intelligence mage in full proc gear.

So you cant cap any of those stats anymore?
so if you have accuracy included, and high str this doesnt seem to balance out someone who just does pure bow? it just seems that everyone heads for the same build, so if most people are all the same then no one surely has an advantage, unless you pretty much get good gear? Seems boring that everyone are just archers.

End game pvp is very gear dependent from what I’ve read. There seems to be more defined rolls now and dex being number 1 stat is a bit of a myth in my opinion. It boils down to, I think, the +50stat gain bonus you receive pre 171 str. Bow is the best weapon to lvl your char with in this stage as it keeps your str low, therefore gaining you maximum stat bonus through the duration. Once you cap str on Blgs however the world is your oyster.

It's no myth, dex is the strongest stat in game. Best offensive hit rate with good gear, good damage mitigation. Zero damage due to misses is better than taking consistent low damage due to str. A mage hits 100% but a dex char will shut down a mage.

i do like the idea of a dex mage man
like if tyrese went full mad and did pure int from 110 to 120 dno if he would cap int but i rekon he would have close to 200 xD +5 proc access full eva set 7% helm 7% top 7% pads 11% boots 6% from 2nd staff new access at +5 ie 12% infernal necky or the db one xD at +5 if its 5% to start goes to 10% then flame earring 3 at 12% or deathglobe proc at max ups goe to +5 or he could go mix of his dex and keep the bow and hit like rico seems to on the dummy i think he would wreck the shit out of most men/women ne way just spitballing dunno if its even viable tbh just food for thought

+5 proc access
full eva set
7% helm
7% top
7% pads
11% boots
6% from 2nd staff
new access at +5
ie 12% infernal necky or the db one xD at +5 if its 5% to start goes to 10%
then flame earring 3 at 12% or deathglobe proc at max ups goe to +5

its all about accuracy these days, before that it was proc and before that eva, just make 1 of everything and you should be ok.

If we are talking about 1v1 duel then high dex char with full eva wins every battle. If we are talking about massive pk wars(havent seen any in ages) there is no perfect char as every build have an issue.
High dex char - lack of int and can easy be banged by a capped int char in one blow High int/str char - lack of dex and his casting can be easy disturbed by hit but those hit not making huge impreza on him. High dex/int - lack of str and he get huge dmg from high dex chars who use accuracy items, still deadly for high dex chars with lack of int but not so much for high str/int build. All build have their + and -. Cya if tyrese would go full int his int wouldnt be so impresaive but he would be best supprt char who runs and slow/weak everyone. Capped 200int char would get 125dex and about the same str(lvl110) His str is very low and 125dex isnt impresaive to anyone who have 160dex
