no offense intended and im not sure what you changed isylver but nega doesnt seem to be any different to before, myself and psycho have tried to solo 1% it it never seems to get there while mellee maul it, seeing arrows missing im presuming it has high dex but the hit auras do a serious amount of damage

Mages get the least drops on the end game bosses, I'm hitting 720 on dummy with weaken consistently and on top of that I've used beserk pots to increase my chances but I still don't have a chance at neither Shak nor Nega, and lets not mention the xmas boss.... it has insane INT but like 10 def dex which means I have 0 chance at getting the drop because I'm a mage? Hello?

Yea from testing at nega I do ever so slightly more than before to adds, but still probably 20% of a similar level melee damage if I’m lucky

dont get me wrong, i dont want mages op, and i dont expect to hit at same damage due to 100% hit rate but its nothing close, its the hit auras that generally do the damage which would imply that mellee does massive damage in comparison and its the dex that stops the bulk of it i guess proven by amount of times spear wins out with fast aura regen and sword with 5th

Not sure about hsoma but it already feels more difficult to slay negamare.. took 5 of us 1.5h killing it last time and cost me 1.5m in pot runs.
We need to chill a little about saying melee rips through it lol because if we make it harder for melee (95% of dsoma) it will be unbelievably hard and people will not bother again. If we increasingly make it easier for mages all hsoma will use magic leaving only spears to be the other class to hit it without magic due to how dexy the mob is. Alot of dsoma melee guys with middle tier gear hardly ever get the kills just the once that worked ages on it do. Also adds hurt alot to melee but doesn't damage mages much.. probably we should carefully lower nega magic defense but also nega and adds magic attk

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying Afro, but I feel like currently mages have very little chance of even killing an add at Negamare, I’ve been a few times at least since the new quests and I managed 7 add kills.
Maybe Nega’s str needs upping and dex needs dropping a bit, whilst definitely its MD needs dropping a fair bit more than it has been - I feel like this would balance things a little more for all classes getting drop chances. I’m at 176 int and adds still hurt me quite a bit.

@dr_evil working on both worlds having same negamare stats, adds still do plenty of damage at 250 int (not complaining in the slightest just clue'ing you in)
@Afro i agree, thats where the 'balance' needs ot be found, i dont want mages being op or to rip through anything, just to have a fair crack at getting the kill the damage taken by mages from adds etc is kind of a moot point imo as if they dont hurt nega/continue to not hurt nega they just wont bother turning up to it in the first place so wont be there to tank damage for others

Ironically archers actually stand the least chance of getting drop on nega (this is a good thing) besides a mage, unless they are wearing accuracy gear ofc, but obviously most archers haven't built that set. That coupled with longest cool down time on aura (others either use 2nd/3rd/5th?) and a slower hitting wep in general.....however mages do need a buff for sure, maybe Dan already did this if he shouted it, reboot required?

Let me tell you something.
1. Negamare shouldn't be easy for five people lmfao.
2. Melee does substantially more damage than Mages to Negamare/Shak/Blitz

Nowadays at a good time 5people is over 50% of the online dsoma players and I did not expect it to be easy with 5 people, I was pointing out that it isn't as easy on our side as you would like to believe. Negamare magic defense should be reduced slightly - I agree with this Howver if magic defense gets significantly reduced then ofcourse anyone with decent int (140+) would most likely opt in to magic hit it, anyone thinking otherwise is just stupid. Why would I use a bow, axe, sword, knux if 90% of my normal hit is a miss? and as a mage 100% is a hit? Nite you have written essays about mages "The big problem with Mages." and seem to be very unhappy with it... I recommend for you to start a melee character.

LOL I was at work typing fast so my point may not have been clear.
Nowadays at a good time 5people is over 50% of the online dsoma players and I did not expect it to be easy

Also Merlin nor me are saying that Negamares MD should be drastically reduced. We're purely pointing out that we do very little damage to it and we are high INT mages with good gear. I have don't worry about it, I started it last month when I saw no hope for mages and I've even pretty much stopped doing INT @WASPS Mages will only ever be useful in situations were there is more than one mage present in order for them to cast. Mages will only be viable in large scale PvP were team work is required. Mages will never be able to go pkin solo because you wont cast unless you are a virgin and you stone then cast a few times and run away then do it over again till said player tps because he's sick of your virgin tactics Mages will hardly ever get the last hits on 550+ MD bosses even if you have a +8 MA set in Hsoma If it was me, I would add 4th staff to Hsoma, buff it to 10 seconds of free casting and a CD of 40 seconds (for DSOMA too) and watch the UC get better for Hsoma anyway. Mark my words, it would increase. In a server full of Melee characters the GVW Meta has become sticking a full EVA/DEX with very little INT player on the stone and wiping all the mages from the hut. Which is pretty much what the test server was like back in 2011 with RINOAX on the stone and us trying to time 5th sword to kill him. I mean no disrespect, I'm purely stating facts. Nite I would’ve thought as someone who made a mage, you would’ve foreseen these problems before getting close to cap lol - this is the life of a mage, it’s not all glamorous but if you’re not a poor player then you’d probably implement these ‘virgin tactics’ rather than be cannon fodder lol.
On the note of people talking about adds, they come with Nega and give an idea of how much damage you’re doing to Nega, so I have no idea why you’re questioning the relevance here? Do we now have to just stay on the exact subject of the thread title or can we make side-points?
