X2 rates idea

Not sure if this could even get implemented or not but here goes.

Obviously we constantly ask for double xp/drops/craft etc. I was thinking rather than isylver "turning it on" for a weekend or for xmas etc ( which everyone is very grateful for)

I was thinking about those that miss out a lot, is there a way i wonder that gms can put it on specific chars? Or accounts? So when we log in we can activate it ourselves? So instead of every now and again we get a x2 weekend he could just put a tab on the interface and when he fwels like it issues everyone one. That way if we are away for weekends or with family for xmas, when we can log on for a day we can switch it on then. Maybe like a timer like the buff pots use? Maybe even make it into a pot like the buff pots and add them as quests?

Im not the best at writing down what im thinking but hopefully you get the jist

It's a great idea for those who find it difficult to attend double xp events, other games have similar options such as its timed on your character and unless you go lvl the timer pauses.

It's a good idea but I think I'd rather something like;

Double exp / drops day alternating once a week (every 6 days) to change up the day it falls on to make more even for all

Always seems alot more players online when these events are on and more people playing makes others want to log on more often... Maybe this way they'd hang around after the event has ended

24 hours 2exp/drops every 12 days doesn't seem too game breaking either

Some ppl defently take more advantage of the double xp weeks than others thats for sure

Could instead of giving a week of double exp they could give every account say 24/48hours of double exp for example

This way everyone would get the same amount of double exp, tho some ppl will use that in 2 days and others 2 weeks ect

Would be great if possible... I've barely logged on in the last week or so. These events usually seem to happen when I have family commitments

Thats why i suggested it. Probably a bit selfish. But i work away during the week and work from a hotel so can play all day and night really. Weekends im home with my little one and missus and thats when all events are :(

But im sure its not just me

From a GM perspective the reason we add this is to show a large amount of UC at one point. If we did the reward everyone routine it wouldn’t work as intended.

I guess this is why we add some of the easy quests for things like this 😊

It's quite insane how much the UC increases when its double xp. You can tell by the amount of players at certain spawns and by the vast number of players in TYT (Hsoma)

should do a vote every month, if certain amount of votes are done we get double rates should only been for weekends tho

got that idea from a WoW server i played and they did double rates every month on the weekends if certain amount of votes was reached

I've seen other "grindy" games have regular double xp events with great success. I think something similar for Soma would be good and healthy for the game.

Is there a day in the week when the are no events on (GVW/WOTW/SS etc.)? Why not make that day double xp for 24 hours?

The reason I suggest that day instead of weekends is to make it so the double xp is always on a different day of the week, so everyone gets a fair chance.

Everyone is older, everyone has less time, game demands too much time, so rates do not equate.
I don't think you can particularly change that, but you can improve upon it.
In my holiday time off I decided to play for the first time in years, and it was great. Players everywhere I went (HSoma), lots of help for a newbie like me, lots of friendly conversation - I've enjoyed it, it felt like the Soma I remember from many years past, so I'm glad I gave this experience / xmas event a shot.

Would I continue to play on with regular rates and no prospect for consecutive and consistent similar events? Unlikely. And as this was enjoyable, I'll probably miss playing. But when I'm back to my schedule, playing in downtime leaves you with no sense of progression and thus you feel little motivation to play. I may dabble, but what usually happens is I realise I'm not getting anywhere with standard rates and the time I have, then I log off for a year or more lol

I havnt got a issue with the rates, feels perfect to me, don't want it to fast (I tend to play couple hours a nite)

Drops on the other hand is a different fish, the Xmas pressies has helped 100%, the odd ruby Iv got has helped trade for what every iv needed

That's still a lot of hours and more than a casual player may be able to offer. You then tally those values against goals you must reach to participate in in-game activities.

Fully understand that, loads of boss's and event that keep getting shouted out in guild and I can only reply in to low level
