i like the idea of mana or hp drain
ie 5% of damage is drained per attack to your hp pool
or a mage aura which drains mp from mobs per attack

not proc or a burst attack just passive hp or mp drain
from upgraded armor or accessories

+1 sounds like an interesting concept specially for wars
