For some reason in the past week or so I've been having issues with moving between maps, and sometimes even moving to busy areas.
For example, warping between towns, my screen freezes for about 20secs and then starts working again. Same with moving through the VoD portal (which has resulted in quite a few used resi's!). I even get the problem when running out of abias towards VoD portal, and into crowded areas. No idea what has changed as I haven't changed any settings. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas how I could make it run faster? I've tried adjusting the priority of Somawindow.exe to high, but that doesn't seem to have done anything. Edit: It happens in window mode and full screen, and even logging off takes a good 10seconds.

"SONIC"This happens to me when my headphones come unplugged for some reason its a direct sound error a few boxes pop up and every warp or tp freezes me for stupid amount of time I had that a while ago when I plugged in my HDMI cable. Obviously it was a different error though. Let's just say right now soma doesn't like changes on your pc while running. :P

The problem went away for a few days but has just come back. Not sure what caused it to stop or start. I'm suspicious it may be Vent that causes the problem, but no idea why closing it and retarting computer wouldn't fix it.
May have to buy a new laptop, the guys in gc are getting bored of me saying 'went through VoD portal. Died again' or 'went through Merc-Conti portal, when my laptop woke up five minutes later a dev had killed me'. Costing me a bloody fortune in resi's. For someone that doesn't really understand computer specs, what should I look out for? I only really use it to play Soma and watch films.

But generally if you go for something store-bought I think it's impossible to buy something that can't do that.
