Add Hard Nega weapons to troll/wasp drop-file's

The Negamare patch has been out a fair while now, there's some decent quests for sure and Nega adjustments have been great even if I still haven't managed to kill it ever - but I think endgame mobs dropping Hard Nega weapons would be a nice addition now, obviously most will be eaten by combine anyway and they could drop at a very low % but just the chance would be lovely.

I think if they were added then Wasps should either drop staff's at a higher % than the weapons as melee would have 5 rolls and we (mage's) would have one, or just make both drop all weapons.

What are people's thoughts on this?

think they need to overhaul a lot of the mobs drop files to be honest, basically every mob In VOD drops staff of shadows, stingers etc need to be passed down to something else and taken away from mags and psycho xbow tier weps to be more prominent at mags, bone needs taking away from mags and adding to hoarde shanis. bitter bone armour needs its def upping slightly to make it actually worth using.

Ffs Asb get outta here! 🤣🤣

Morty while I agree for the most part, that sounds like a bigger job and something that could take a little longer to implement - for now I’d be very happy with just what I have suggested personally, also I consider bitter bone definitely worth using, I refuse to upgrade normal bone unless making farming bits.

Whilst hunting your end game mobs, I do believe there should be a way to farm few negamare weaps.
A decent repeatable quest at trolls/wasps and DD/mage equiv mob on dsoma would be nice.
Kill 2999 trolls for a rare-epic weap.

I don't think it should be as part of the mob drop file though, I like the current challenge of trying to make decent weaps xD

-1 nega is a huge part of the game and took a lot of work and would take the spotlight off this great part of the game

There are plenty of decent nega weps about the game is progressing at a good rate

Dare I think of it was those sorta numbers for a repeatable quest it should probably be hard-rare at max, or maybe higher numbers per quest, but decent enough suggestion.

Sub while everyone is entitled to their opinion, do you not think it’d be more fair to the people who don’t have pure +8 everything and aren’t in the select few that get basically every drop to have a chance at lower tagged endgame weapons, 6 or so months after they were initially released?

There’s definitely some nice weapons about which is great, but it’s still kinda monopolised by 5/6 players getting those weapons 90% of the time, just some food for thought - although you probably won’t agree as you’re one of the select few monopolising drops (not saying you’re doing anything wrong).

Nega would still be relevant as it drops nice fairly often and it’s worth going to try your luck, I just feel something like this would give the little guys a shot at slowly making something nice/having some trade-worthy bits too.

I think trolls and boars should have a repeatable quest for hard nega weps and just give the nega staff to wasps as its irrelevant anyway due to no upgrade risk and with MA being currently useless.

Current problem with nega is those without nega weps can never match the attack values of those with epic/int +5-8 nega weps so you are never in a position to get the last hit. Nega worked great when everyone had gorshak weps but now its not so good, i dont really agree with boss exclusive drops anyway as it just keeps the majority behind which no time investment can breach.

On what planet is MA currently useless mate?

The issue with just giving Wasps staff is people may want to trade and there’s a lot less demand for staff’s than there is the melee weapons, I think if we’re being fair then for quests you should have a choice of any and if it’s added to the drop-file then they should both drop all - as otherwise you get say 5x attempts at rolling a 0.2% chance of any weapon and a 1x attempt at rolling a 0.2% of a staff - or male staff’s drop at a higher % to make things fair.

I do agree with your last paragraph mostly though.

The part where most mages have capped damage rendering any more MA useless hence the 50% proc sets because they arent forced to wear MA, the proof is in the devaluing of CTs people just dont run MA items anymore because melee dont have the int for MD.

What im trying to say is the only loss of nega staves atm is through combine which guarantees you keep one and eventually it will go the way of golden thunder rod where they carry no value because they arent leaving the game via the anvil. Even completing two of the one time quests and trying for an epic is decent.

So because people have made characters with 100 or less int, MA is now useless? I suppose there’s no chance we could farm, hit someone with higher int, go for other mage’s, use MA bits at Nega, or level in future then? Lol.

You could also combine melee weapons but most people don’t due to OP attack, I get what you’re saying to a degree but I totally disagree that because of that mage’s should suffer in terms of drops/quests, and if people want they can add painite to staffs, which if what you’re saying will happen does happen, then the anvil will start eating them once combine has finished.

Melee with typical int values is true tho, if melee suddenly had more MD the proc bits would need to come off for MA items thus increasing their value and in turn a max MA int nega staff and sure maybe even the MA upgrade could be called for if enough MD was present. Atm and for the foreseeable future that wont change.

AS for mage on mage of similar stats and gear they normally kill each other in the same amount of hits resulting in who casts first winning, i would expect most capped mages already have capped damage on all mobs with little to no MA items.

Lets be clear about mages i dont agree with capped magic damage as i DO think a mage should be able to use the full extent of their MA even if that means they one hit you with a lesser spell than DB if your MD + HP was low enough.

First paragraph I agree.

Second if one mage has pure proc items and the other has pure MA items whilst they have the same int, the MA wearing mage will win almost 100% of the time due to even if the proc mage proc’s a lot they’re doing a lot smaller damage, the MA stuff is guaranteed every hit gain of damage. Also for the mobs we hunt/mags I doubt we have capped damage and definitely not the main bosses.

Tbh I agree with magic damage caps, people whine enough about magic damage as things stand, I couldn’t imagine it without a magic damage cap.

Anyway I feel like our conversation has kinda derailed the thread haha.

Agreed, it will get people out actually hunting who are capped, most just log on at t8 for nega then log off, endgame mobs need to be more active imo.

Would be a great addition to the server

China has one of the highest amount of negamare kills and he still uses gorshak wep
