Curious are you the orig Icarus, I only ask as you made a post not knowing how many lvls the gap is for PK yet your char has been around years.

He thought it was 16 level gap not realising that it meant you can't pk anyone below 16 and after lvl 16 they have to be within a 20 level range to hit - so a lvl 20 cant pk a lvl 15 for example which overrules the 20 level range but a lvl 120 can pk a lvl 100 etc

Ah fair play, When did they change from 30 levels anyway.

The state of soma........

Well the game itself that is Soma, has never been better, countless quests added over time, new bosses, mobs, weapons, armour, accessories, upgrades added. The Soma game is in a better state than it was back in esoma and that is thanks to Isylver, Finito, Ghostlord they have given and continue to give there free time keeping Soma alive and improving it.

there has always been rivalry in Soma, but I have to say the rivalry on this server is at times just pure hate for one another and goes beyond just harmless banter. If the two sides continue how they are then it is Soma that will suffer. Both sides need to find a common ground to coexist without this hatred otherwise you may find more players leaving till it's just the two sides left.

The game itself I agree is the best its ever been my thread wasn't about that if im honest it was about the state the players are making it to be if that makes sense

I knew what your thread was referring to Ginger, I just thought I would try put the positive first before I got to the sad part that could destroy this community for good. If both sides don't find a way to have a healthy rivalry without all the crap then sadly there will be only one casualty and that is Soma itself.

I can’t see anyone playing soma unless they played the original. Which means your market is ~30 year olds plus. Very hard to get new players.

This, just too many better games out there to attract actual fresh players that have never played at least once before, just have to accept it. The game is a grindfest which is hard enough to attract players.

Well said Linny. Brief summary is that the game is great but the wankers that play are killing it for the decent people who just want to play the game without interacting with sick fuckers, and bullies that are so bitter and twisted because of their own failures in life that they think its good fun to ruin other peoples game experience. Not just sicko's and bullies, but keep in mind that these people are apparently well into adulthood and looking at the forum and world shout, that is almost impossible to believe. If soma is to survive, all the poison needs to be banned, but that would leave about 20 people playing the game so it aint gonna happen. Those of you that think that new players are joining the game are smoking or drinking too much! Just players with no where else to go making new chars to annoy the shit out of the existing player base which is woefully low. It's true that no one in their right mind will pick up this as a new game...purely old esoma players like myself. Personally had my time and got it out of my system, it was fun for a few months but that's all. Instead of complaining here, go play another game. I get that the fact its free to play is an attraction for a lot of people but its also an attraction for all the losers that are blighting the game.

Server hasnt really had any direction for many years. At this point all us casuals have dropped off and you are all left to PK between yourselves. Anyone else left behind at this point is going to quit eventually apart from the very few.

Its a shame there hasnt been any extra efforts from Dan since that game actually went into abandon ware. It has potential to be overhauled and redesigned as a project which could also lead to it being a standlone published game via kickstarter.

It is never going to happen. Anyone donating at this point is just topping up Dans wallet. The cost of a server at this scale cost literally nothing to what it did 10 years ago.

I will continue to check these forums once every few months. I still dont know why I do.

I would have no problem donating on a regular basis but until the bugs are fixed and some proper game moderation is installed, I dont think it's worth my time or money.
This feud between 4 guilds also needs to remain between those 4 guilds. Dragging peaceful guilds into your war imo is wrong. Most of us want to enjoy the game that we give our spare time to, not be bullied and and picked on because you have an ego problem. The shouting ingame has become so pathetic and toxic that I have witnessed over 5 people already this week quitting. There are some amazing people in this game and there are the odd one or two who ruin it for others.

It's not all hate etc, dsoma is fine there is no issues there at all. We only all pk one guy we'll his 50 other characters aswell. But dsoma honestly if you want a friendly place and to be able to get back at humans that gave u issues try it. There's nothing better then a nice 868 5th swd on dummy :)

All you do is make drama for any guild you are in and are one of the most toxic people I have met. You get by on "oh im female tank for me" or "give me free gear". Everything you have achieved in soma is on the back of others.

You leaving wouldn't be a bad thing would bring some players back no doubt.
