Anyone have any idea how i go about doing this? I been trying to get enough str to start punching Hoppers but at the moment i am 57str with 44dex and it would take about 50 hits just to kill one but if i continue using axe to gain more str to actually hurt hoppers by punching then my Dex is going to be so far behind.
Am not entirely sure how punch gains work tbh, i know they give balanced stats but dose it depend on the mob you are killing? if am killing a monster with low str and high dex would that result in more dex?. Any help would be appreciated, been a long time since i played.

At 44 Dex I'm going to guess you are lv 25~27 depending on amount of early punching.
What is your goal? Dsoma punching; (this is an oversimplified description) Axe start 17 str, 9 dex, 14 con, 5 int/wis Punching give equal in all stats regardless of class. Simplest way to look at it is a base 10. Say it's 100 punches to level, each punch has a value of 1 You need 170 punches for str to get to 18, 90 to get dex to 10, 140 for con and 50 for int ---------------------------------------------------------------- 50 punches into lvl your stats are; str 17.2 dex 9.5 con 14.3 int/wis 6 (now needs 60 punches for increase to 7) --------------------------------------------------------------- 100 punches and lvl str 17.6 dex 10.1 con 14.7 int/wis 6.9 -------------------------------------------------------------- Str now needs 70 punches for 18, dex needs 100 punches for 11, con still need 40 punches for 15 and int/wis will be 7 in about 10 punches, then requiring 70 punches to get 8 int/wis. Before long all stats will be in a tight band ie: str 49.6, dex 49.3, con 49,4 and int/wis 49.5 Once stats are "merged" punching gains will be basically equal; as above: all stats need 490+ punches to lvl stat. This is an oversimplified description but goes to what I've seen punching from low lvl. As for mob selection; With weapon leveling the basic assumed rate of gain is| Gain from monster * 1.3 if monster is 31 str or more than you. Gain * 1.0 if monster 1~30 str more than you and gain *.7 if monster 0 ~ -30 your str. With punching @ your 57 str (and 2 x acc) effective attack 61 Hoppers have 650 hp and 45 base df, So you'll hit them for 16 dmg per hit. 41 punches each. Hoppers provide 475 exp, so you get 11.69 experience per contact (hwan hoppers str cap 104) OR Fireworms have 521 hp and 38 base df, so you'll hit them for 23 dmg per hit, 23 punches each. Fireworms provide 300 exp, so you get 13.24 experience per contact (hwan fireworms str cap 90.5) Or Rotting Corpse have 328 hp and 28 df, so you hit them for 33 dmg per hit, 10 punches each. Rotting Corpse provide 150 exp, so you get 15.09 exp per contact (Rotting Corpse str cap 73) you have 57 str 74.5 str hoppers within 1~30 your str 59.5 str fw within 1~30 your str 42 str Rotting corpse 0 ~ -30 your str So while a mob like corpse will level you faster it will probably net lower stats than FW and Hoppers FW and Hoppers will probably provide same stats until you str top FW next lvl. Fw take almost half the strikes, have lower dex. To get into a mythical punching gain *1.3 (meaning 31 + your str monster) you'd be looking at; 89 str Anteater vs 57 str = 32 Anteater have 875 hp and 50 base df, so you'll hit them for 11 dmg per hit, 80 punches each. Anteater provide 500 exp, so you get 6.29 exp per contact (anteater str cap 120). Not sure if this helps or hinders ;)

Dsoma punching;

Axe start
17 str, 9 dex, 14 con, 5 int/wis
Punching give equal in all stats regardless of class.

Say it's 100 punches to level, each punch has a value of 1
You need 170 punches for str to get to 18,
90 to get dex to 10, 140 for con and 50 for int
----------------------------------------------------------------
50 punches into lvl your stats are;
str 17.2
dex 9.5
con 14.3
int/wis 6 (now needs 60 punches for increase to 7)
---------------------------------------------------------------
100 punches and lvl
str 17.6
dex 10.1
con 14.7
int/wis 6.9
--------------------------------------------------------------
Str now needs 70 punches for 18, dex needs 100 punches for 11, con still need 40 punches for 15 and int/wis will be 7 in about 10 punches, then requiring 70 punches to get 8 int/wis.

Fireworms provide 300 exp, so you get 13.24 experience per contact (hwan fireworms str cap 90.5)

Rotting Corpse provide 150 exp, so you get 15.09 exp per contact (Rotting Corpse str cap 73)
you have 57 str
74.5 str hoppers within 1~30 your str
59.5 str fw within 1~30 your str
42 str Rotting corpse 0 ~ -30 your str
So while a mob like corpse will level you faster it will probably net lower stats than FW and Hoppers
FW and Hoppers will probably provide same stats until you str top FW next lvl.
Fw take almost half the strikes, have lower dex.
To get into a mythical punching gain *1.3 (meaning 31 + your str monster) you'd be looking at;
89 str Anteater vs 57 str = 32
Anteater have 875 hp and 50 base df, so you'll hit them for 11 dmg per hit, 80 punches each.
Anteater provide 500 exp, so you get 6.29 exp per contact (anteater str cap 120).

"JAHEIRA"Tends to be what ever mob your hunting you punch the one below that mob That's a very useful rule of thumb. Another one is testing is king - if you feel you can kill it fast enough (do realise 'fast enough' is a lot slower than axing) you should hunt.
