"MISERICORD""DEAMOND"Personally i think as it stands these rates are too fast to be permanent, I'd say if it was 1.5x or 2x the normal rates that would be more than enough i reckon to cater to those who don't have much time as other players and this way still be able to compete in terms of capping. -1 sorry but I don't have time to only gain like .7str a hour with axe. The game has multiple builds now and probably more to come from what the community team is planning...so rates as they are during this event is ideal imo Wow classic for example takes about 7 full days to get to cap... Time wise unless u know what ur doing and alot of people find that a bad grind.... I'm sorry but taking well over 800hours to cap a char on soma is just ridiculous in this day and age People enjoy leveling but they want to get to endgame content... Not grind for months and months... Noone has the time for that unless ur a benefit cheat or off sick for serious reasons. Or have access to a bot of some kind Keep the rates and just design more char builds Add RNG stats on all items to give everyone a unique role on the game that way everyone's different in someway... Don't slow it down again

But then again if you have someone that has enjoyed capping a 120 character they could go on to make different builds such as a dex mage, tank mage etc the list is endless..
But i am currently enjoying the event so thanks =]
Bit too quick experience wise to be permanent. I'm getting str in 1 min 10 seconds at 150+ str. That's too fast.
Be nice if the experience could be dialled down a tad to like 1.5x but keeping the drops a bit higher.
But regardless, great changes and event. Well done guys :)
I agree with you dude it will be surprising if he does.. but if he gives the community what it wants then there is a big chance the game can thrive again with new players coming to play..
The game shouldn't be as hardcore as it once was because the games soooo different to the original blueprint now. It has to be casual friendly especially with all the new builds that can be made now and I'm sure with all the new stuff that's coming it will only get better.. No disrespect intended to Dan but it would be a bad move to revert now with all the success and positivity that's been injected into the game the last month nearly with ideas and player commitment.. Like I said.. if the game reverts rates wise.. it will be the death of the server imo because the economy again will Holt to a stand still and any new players who join won't have a chance in hell to progress

I'm just a person who reads forums, but I would really like to hear the volunteer group's perspective and opinion on keeping these rates.

The majority seem to want to keep rates, however I feel it's too fast and there will be no sense of achievement at the end of it all. Capped sabre in 1500 hours (120cook/pot included) but can't say I was thrilled with the achievement as the char is s**t. Been online this event for an hour as working 16 hour days and playing cod on my limited time I have.
I'll still play occasionally regardless of what the levelling speed is, I enjoy soma and any speed above esoma rates is good to me.

levelling speed is just fine as it is.. an occasional 2x or 3x for events or a weekend here n there is plenty.
If it was speeded up to the current rates.. how long till ppl are asking for more 2x and 3x weekends.... totally crazy speeds where we'd be capping new characters in a week. The new system of hitting mobs with just more str than you have for the full +50 bonus has in effect speeded things up massively... basically a free pass ( for a few hours play ) to lev 56 and apus dex and skill.. ez life

ISylver said on the discord chat that he agress that the rates probably be increased permanently so fingers crossed.
I don't think 2-300 hours is ez mode by any means. That would be a year of playing for me to hit cap and I'm sure there are many players in the same boat.

As a returning player (start of Halloween event) and being part of the community dev group, IMO I find these rates to be enough to make me stay playing now.
I hear very few people saying these rates are too fast. I can't help but think the 1000s of hours capping characters and grinding at anvil is encouraging your opinion since it collides with the fact that you have earned your reward the hardcore way. i commend you all and that is absolutely fine! If anything it shows your a committed loyal Soma player. However, if we look at the wider picture on how this event has been an example of why people are returning (which obviously is rates) you will find that people want to reach cap. They want to do Bosses that they have never had an opportunity to do, they want to contend on gvw and wotw, they may want to join In on the PK fun, they may want to sit in town and chat. In Chojines new guild alone it consists of 90% new players and returners because they feel they now have the time to invest into Soma. That is 1 guild in hsoma. The numbers will be much much more by now. We have people starting new characters which also greatly improves the health of seeing people out on the fields whilst hunting. Dan has confirmed he will be upping rates. Almost everyone is reluctant that he will stick to the current rate. Triple sounds like its super super fast, but Comon... Its reasonable. Even Isylver wouldn't have enough time with the current rates. I hope Dan understands that leaving as is would RETAIN the current user count and we will see people. Returning over the coming year. There is so much potential involved. Let us not ruin this opportunity to see Soma thrive.

can't argue with that.. tho with qwikker rates/ more capped peeps... gona need new content added in levels/ mobs/ gear etc more quickly to keep motivation going and targets to achieve.
I agree..loads of potential here if gm's/ volunteers are happy to put in the time to add things. ''It's Soma Jim, but not as we know it'' ( Bones might say ;o )

As of the past 4 weeks we as a community have voiced current concerns and so far we have had Isylver and Fin approve things for the better, we also have the haloween NPC that is yet to be added, and also Dsoma droptables have yet to be added.
I may have missed a few things, but Anvil has been a hot topic and I would not be surprised to see something done to it at some point soon. As far as content goes, we are actively thinking of ways to engage this. Right now the focus is to push the full Haloween approvals in the game and to take it from there. At some point soon I am also willing to learn scripting to help out with any necessary workload that I can aid Fin with, but I have yet to make a start. The rest of the team all have there own skills whether it be game knowledge, software skills and so forth. With it all combined I honestly believe we have potential to push new content at a faster rate to help not just Dan and Fin but everyone that plays this game. Who knows, maybe content at some point can be deemed as expansions, we will have to see. The potential is huge going forward, and I am personally extremely excited to see what's next for Soma in the coming months and years. More importantly I am excited to be playing Soma again, that's all that matters to me and ill do all I can to improve and help out as a community member.

Have to remember..''the community'' is only a handful of ppl that write on the forums. The vast majority of players never write a word on the forum..so what u see here isn't always a true reflection of the 'majority view'.
Though granted, if ppl don't speak up then their voice can't be heard. I think the +50 route change is good , and will make the first part of the game much easier, enjoyable and will encourage more players to return or roll a new character. Also surprised there haven't been a few moans from old-skool guys that have done maybe the +10/30 route.... good character , but not quite the +50. They will have put many 100's of hours in, and now find that they really need to make a new 1. Most players are addicts here, and just go with the flow, hoping things will continue. So... good luck to gm's and volunteers. Good to see things moving forward. Don't forget, the forums don't always reflect the views of the majority. x

Wait till the event is over. All these new players are just going to dissapear again.
There is alot of debate on Discord on reasons why this EXP rate should stay as is.
1.Theres way more positives compared to the negatives of it.
2.It Retains all the people currently playing at this event.
3.It allows people to enjoy the lvl experience more
4.Players wont need to spend 6-12 months to cap just to gvg/ wotw/ ctf/ pvp (HAVE FUN)
5. *Important one* It allows Fin and community devs to hard focus on purely end game content, expansions and much more. We have so much potential to add alot more to this game,
I sometimes think some people dont realise the scope of how huge this is.
6. It retains every player and keeps everyone happy and allows the server to have a stable healthy usercount that appeals to all types of gamers, and not just harcore.
7. People wouldnt be bored and just stop playing because we have a community development team that is now focused on end game content and expansions.
I literally went to DW and Warmess with a party of 6. 5 of which was people that havent played the game in a long time, including me. Imo all this effort will feel like such a waste if we loose this.
Lets retain it, and look forward to hearing of quartely updates and expansions that could HUGELY give Soma the potential to appeal to all the people that have left and not returned over all these years.
Haven't been playing for a long while now, but I think it's about time rates went to 2-3x permanently, doesn't matter the time it took for the rest of us to cap, we need a userbase and a lot of people I know who have kids/loads of rl commitments know what the grind of soma is like and are put off by it, but would like to be able to compete. An hour a day for a year and they would be able to join in...sounds fair to me...

havent played properly in over a year, i pop on every now and then but just dont have the time i used to to play.
increasing rates by atleast x2 (x3 may be a bit steep) would help alot of people catch up and give people more incentive to play without the feeling of if they dont grind for 8 hours a day they would never cap a character. personally dont think i would have the time to continue leveling this new character when the rates go back to normal again( currently playing around an hour or 2 a day)
