I remember when the first few months of the server weps didnt seem terribly hard to come by, i seem to remember Vex to name one had 2 intense Mal bows. I might have missed something but was the drop rate altered for dsoma at some point early on.
The main problem i see is not many people seem to stick with dsoma for the long run, as there isnt much to distract from the grind. alot of the good wep drops in game are on characters that no longer play, so they are effectivly lost forever. Majority of people are now passed the mobs that drop the weps. Knuckle for example, the only real way to find a good one is to farm as GiantLiz (same as bow at minos) but im way past them giving me worth while stats, the only way for me to farm them is to use penalty exp. not to mention the only people who hunt them are knux chars looking for weps, there is no need at all to hunt them with any class to be honest. Now anytime at minos you can find at least 4 people hunting there, because there are so many archers on dsoma bows are the best currency you can use to trade, they also have pretty good barr drops aswel. majority of other classes will hunt there to use bows as currency so there are alot in circulation, they just seem hard to come by as there are so many archers trying to get hold of. So the problem is, knuxers hunt GL for knux, they are the only people that hunt there. when they do get good drops, they need them so they arnt going to be trading or selling so they dont go into circulation. So people hunt for bows to trade, they get the great tag bows but then there are no other weps in circulation to trade for as everyone else is looking for bows aswel, so those bows then dont end up getting traded and never go back into the loop. most people wuld proabably re roll so they could use that bow rather than sell for barr, because again after you do a bit of hunting at minos to get more bows to trade you no longer need money. (felt like a bit of a ramble that but hope it makes sense) p.s. dont know what drop spears so dont know how they work, i also only know of about 4 active spear users still playing. EB the main hunted mob for majority of people playing id say, drop a decent amount of swords and axes. p.p.s. sorry for any grammatical errors, in a rush

I'm not even talking end-game items. You won't get a haul like that over your entire Dsoma career from level 1 to 100 hunting regular monsters. Besides, this "endgame items" argument is absolute BS - the only reason an apus bow or a raptor knuckle isn't endgame, is because iSylver kept the Abyss weapons for Hsoma, but removed them from Dsoma. Grim bow, KoD are the penultimate weapon, and are now in fact 2 tiers behind their Hsoma counterpart. If we're to compare tier for tier, Dsoma's staff of shadows, being 99skill to use is behind Hsoma by about 4 or 5 tiers. My little post/link was just to reaffirm how ridiculous the drop rate difference between the two races is. Each hunt on my human noob, my inventory is full way before i'm even half way through my hunt with items, granted they're not all weapons.

"S0RCERER".... TLDR bla bla, stop comparing the "tier", a tier makes no difference. You could implement 50 tiers of hsoma weapons and only 3 tiers of dsoma, it is totally irrelevant what "tier" it is as well as the skill/stats required to use it. end of the day the only thing that matters (in a very simply put model) is total str, (of which devils have way more) and attack on current highest weapons (of which devils have way more) Which is probably why devils wont be seeing new armor or weapons for a long time.

It wouldn't matter at all about what weps or str we have % is king and that's always in devils favour Lol. But let's keep her on topic, a massive thread has popped up about hsoma not getting enough drops... this thread been going for a good while and would say top end dsoma weps alot harder to get. Hopefully now hsoma has a "problem" now it gets rectified for us aswel.

roughly 10 hsoma pamoth weps drop per week?untagged of these are similar attack to rare/epic apus etc? Why not have grim bows etc drop at rare+ from new bosses
Would oomans kill Dionaea/Tiresias/gorshak if they dropped same weps that normal mobs do instead? (Lb Drops)

"S0RCERER" Relevant - Dsoma drops could do with normalization especially on weapons that drop off different mobs. Now that dsoma has crafting too we will need to see more comparable drop rates. However when looking at drop rates we should look at the following: - How many spots can it drop from - How likely is it to be upgraded - What are the (combined) drop rates In theory dsoma should come out way ahead of HSoma in the amount of top end weapons that are about (HSoma gorshak + pamoth items vs last dsoma items). "S0RCERER" Irrelavant. Tier are nice, but they don't have a real function. The only funtional thing about weapons is their stats. Only staff comes out as 'could use another staff in the future' the DSoma melee weapons are fine. In fact they are stronger then the hsoma counterpart so the whole 'tier' thing doesn't have any useful effect. "S0RCERER" I don't see what HSoma noobs have to do with this. We'll see weapon and armor crafting in the future so noob stuff will be ok. "TEAR"roughly 10 hsoma pamoth weps drop per week?untagged of these are similar attack to rare/epic apus etc? Why not have grim bows etc drop at rare+ from new bosses They do drop rare+, at the same frequency as any other boss. I don't really get this post. Keep the thread going anyway, seems to be only constructive posts.

Not that i can say much, but i've been hunting evolved beasts for a while now, and from level 1-44 i have seen only 1 weapon drop: 1 rare bone bow. I just don't think the drop rates for weapons are anywhere near what they should be. The base rate needs a 20% buff in my humble opinion. I think boss drops are fine, but hunting mobs need to drop more hunting weapons.

I think the major problem with dsoma is that items don't drop till you can kill them quick enough, or at least this is how It feels for me, and with the 10% stat increase on weaps where killing mobs slower for longer and then moving onto the next mob where the same is happening again if would be nice if a Gm could confirm this, as this is not just on this server that its felt like this (maybe more here due the the 10%) Does the kill speed have any effect on the drops you get ? or is the amount of mob deaths have any effect ?

"JAHEIRA" Drops work on a percentage, if you kill more you are more likely to find something. o.o I don't feel the dsoma requirments increased has had such an impact though, in the end you will still kill the same amount of mobs per lvl. I do feel 20% drop increase for non top-end items would be great for DSoma. But I wouldn't add more than 10% on the top end weapons due to the amount of mobs that drop them.

for example, I hunted rotten corpes for 5 lvls with no drops, go back later on to punch for 50% and had quite a lot of spiked droped (oversly my str was higher and killed them quicker than when I hunted there earlier on, but I was only there for 50% rather than 5 lvls of nothing)
and this seems across the board

Since you hunt mobs a lot closer to your STR whilst punching you will kill more mobs as you are higher lvl. I've always felt the same.
