one of you clever mathematicians... like Fringe did some months ago with evasion charts/table/ mobs...
to do a DPS chart.. so u can jus put in ur wep.. min/max att and recoil..and come up with DPS? Would seem easier to do this than the eva thing as mobs aren't included.. No idea as the the feasability.. but would be a useful tool for gauging the value of weapons.

[Intense] potbofz+5 dps of this please? compared to some of the rare/ epic stingers on sale at 720 ish rec... kinda thing.Attack : 34~54 Weight : 11 Durability : 3904 Speed : A+(681) Req. Dex : 79 Req. Skill : 121 If this tool of ''dps finder'' could be made easily available.. would make the valuing of weapons much easier. Even more cool..if the game could calculate this.. and add an extra stat at the bottom of the wep details..Under Req Skill.. and give the dps in another line of detail

I think there is an additional factor to DPS and that is the mobs STR (defence)
by that I mean this ..... I have a fast knuckle but I am told I do not do enough damage to hurt the Negamare (may as well blow raspberries at it) because my "Attack" is too low. So, for all the DPS my weapon does, it does nothing in the scenario above. Of course, the damage taken by the "victim" is certainly not the same as the DPS of the weapon but perhaps it is a factor? Super Sleuth Spread Sheet Solver needed ! 8) Jac

We used to use one in the guild. Yeah needs to work of your min and max attack ( no pod gear or crit ear etc.) Work it out on the dummy. Then can take away the mobs defence too see what wep is good against certain mobs

i kno its all gona depend on ur other gear/str/dex etc. but must be a base value to calculate all this on? Just to give some basic figure.....? duno/ maybe hehe.
Could it not be calculated on a naked character with 10 str/ 10 dex vs a 10 dex/ 10 str opponent or mob ( assuming he could wear the item)?

I was also told that the recoil of a weapon is in milliseconds.
If that is true, your bow fires every 0.681 of a second. (681/1000) If that is true, you could increase your attack by 132.9% (100%-68.1%+100) If that is true, your attack would be 45~72 Rounded (ie. 34~54x132.9%) If that is true, your weapon's average attack is 58.5 DPS (damage per second) Assuming I have been told correctly of course. 8) Jac

Me MePlayer B = 200 STR. You should be able to cobble together a rough answer from the above. I did a weapon DPS comparison some time ago. I've lost access to the spreadsheet (changed jobs and forgot to nback it up) but if theres much appetite for it, i can do it again.

Weapon Speed (recoil) is stated in Milliseconds, so like you said:
Weapon A = 642 / 1000 = 0.642
Weapon B = 520 / 1000 = 0.520
Then the reciprocal of the recoil / 1000 gives you the number of attacks per second:
Weapon A = 1 / 0.642 ≈1.58 Attacks Per Second
Weapon B = 1 / 0.520 ≈1.92 Attacks Per Second

Player B = 200 STR.
Weapon = Hoarde Hand, 51-55, 500 Recoil
Min DMG = 200+(51*2.0) = 302
Max DMG = 200+(55*2.2) = 321
Avg DMG = 312
Player A Def = 176 to 208 (average 192)
So damage infilicted to Player A would be:
Min = 302 - 208 = 94
Max = 321 - 176 = 145
Avg = 312 - 192 = 120
So taking our average damage inficted as our working figure;
Average DPS with 100% Hit Rate = (120 / (500 / 1000) ) = 240 DPS inflicted on player A
90% Hit Rate = 240 * 0.9 = 216 DPS
80% Hit Rate = 240 * 0.8 = 192 DPS
70% Hit Rate = 240 * 0.7 = 168 DPS
60% Hit Rate = 240 * 0.6 = 144 DPS
"LUPISCUS" Ok, for a super rough estimate.. That bow is 34-54, which makes an average of 44 attack. The recoil is 681, which is 1 attack every 0.681 seconds or 1.468 attacks per second Average DPS (as we are working with average damage) is: DPS = (AverageDMG/(recoil/1000)) which in this case is (44/(681/1000)) = 64.61DPS Now that kind of gives you a score you can use in a sense. But also rearranging the formulae above, we can use it to find out what recoil a weapon of a specific attack needs to be in order to match a particular DPS. For example, plucking the stats of a random rare psycho X bow from forum.. if you had a bow drop with 42-62 attack, what recoil would it need to be to be better than your BoF? 42-62 gives an average of 52 attack. using the rearranged formula.. 1 / recoil = ( AverageDMG /( DPS )) which in this case is (52 / 64.61) = 0.804 or 804 recoil So our hypothetical bow of 42-62 would need to be at least 804 recoil to match the DPS of your BoF. And for the lulz, if it had the same recoil as the BoF (681), it would be (52/(681/1000)) = 76.36 DPS All of this stuff does not take into account your strength, the defense of your target, weapon skill value or the weighting of min v.s max damage so cannot give a true reflection of actual target dps; BUT it does serve as a rough guide for you and can sort of throw up a basic gear score, rather than a damage per second value

Ok, for a super rough estimate..
That bow is 34-54, which makes an average of 44 attack.
The recoil is 681, which is 1 attack every 0.681 seconds or 1.468 attacks per second
Average DPS (as we are working with average damage) is:
DPS = (AverageDMG/(recoil/1000)) which in this case is (44/(681/1000)) = 64.61DPS
Now that kind of gives you a score you can use in a sense.
42-62 gives an average of 52 attack.
using the rearranged formula..
1 / recoil = ( AverageDMG /( DPS )) which in this case is (52 / 64.61) = 0.804 or 804 recoil
So our hypothetical bow of 42-62 would need to be at least 804 recoil to match the DPS of your BoF.
And for the lulz, if it had the same recoil as the BoF (681), it would be (52/(681/1000)) = 76.36 DPS
All of this stuff does not take into account your strength, the defense of your target, weapon skill value or the weighting of min v.s max damage so cannot give a true reflection of actual target dps; BUT it does serve as a rough guide for you and can sort of throw up a basic gear score, rather than a damage per second value
"RAMYREZ"Spent 5 minutes making this Heh, beat me to it. But anyways, my post is an explanation of whats happening in Ramyrez sheet but from a pure weapon based scoring approach, rather than F10. Plus the info on attack v.s recoil back calculation might be handy for someone i hope.
