My only issue at the moment is that I used to spend time doing failers and trying to (relatively speaking) predict my success and failure potential outcomes. The difficulty now is that any time I do a +2 item it counts as two successes in that cycle so it feels even harder to get an item +3... We still end up wasting the same amount of upgrades & our item in the end when it breaks. The only major thing that this has done is ensure everyone ingame can now get mediocre gear.

The ghost +1 idea, even if only to +5 would’ve been a lot better in helping more casual players, guaranteed +2 is something though.

I was for the ghost method for a long time but it would have just ruined what little economy is left. There has to be some risk involved and a way to remove items from the economy.
I agree that even with drops having been improved, top tier weapons with decent tags seem to be hard to come by and probably needs looking at. Soma is a fundamentally imbalanced game, as are most MMOs, as those who are ahead usually grow further ahead due to the mechanics. Those running around with +6/7/8s are in the minority and always should be. Those items should be hideously hard to make or there's no challenge.

if you fail should lose mats and sets u back a + but keep items :) lol
what about adding an item that adds % success that u add along with upgrades that can be obtained from mobs |

In my experience I could deal with breaking weps because I would also upgrade about 3 int weps up at a time. Mind you they weren't close to max roll, but they were a int wep non the less, and I would get Az pills from mags to try and +5 them for fun and hand them out to guildies who need them.
But when it comes to armour I rarely have the chance just because for me mags arnt dropping enough DT for me to attempt to get my armour to +5 dex each. Ive easily done 10k Mags and only had a had full of DTs. More repeatable quests for DTs is needed imo In regards to the anvil, making +5 items just got easier with +2 100%, just need the upgrades to drop to make breaking items worth it.

I think +1 ghost fails would actually boost the economy, people would be more inclined to smash out their upgrades and see what they can make - then a lot of people will probably start to trade bits that had more fails or just change their mind and wanna swap for a diff type of gear, and with more about, more will inevitably be traded.

Id much prefer a mat that give 5%sucess at anvil something thats very rare and possibly only dropped in conti.
Make it as rare as the blood buckler on dsoma lol would also spice up trades for both worlds. |

a conti boss mob that drops a cross world item very rarely that increases success chance or increase the minimum range of azazel / toe / ss, would encourage wotw fighting even more since there are so many top end weps laying dormant due to really bad -20 recoil ups lol
maybe a 10% tag rate increase for owning conti since CTF gives 10% drops to further encourage wotw

I had already upped most of my gear to +3 before the anvil change and haven't really used the anvil much since when I have the items have broken on +3/+4. But the change is a good one 100% and happy with how the anvil is. What I'm not happy with is the drop rate, now I'm not over exaggerating here on actaeon in 3 weeks at blg I have killed over 5k blg (quests show this) and I've had 2 medium ruby and 2 egg pile. 1ve had 1 egg pile in 2 weeks 0 med ruby... I know rng etc but that's a joke and it seems to be worse than before th 20% drop increase. The same goes with mags I've killed 4k of them and before the 20% increase I was getting at least a rare nega weapon per night and 8-10 ep. Now I'm literally getting Barr drops with the occasional hard neg weap every 2 days

Now I'm literally getting Barr drops with the occasional hard neg weap every 2 days i agree to some extent. when i did blg i got around 100+ med rubys 130+ ep in my time there but maybe now weps been added its reduced there chance of dropping them? also when the new elder magma was added im sure they used to drop decent now 98% of them i kill drop just bar, not sure who owns ctf but the drop rate does seem less for me anyway. i have the upgrades to use but getting the weps/arms to put them on is harder titus so difficult to come by.

I don't know how the drop system works but it does feel like since the weps were added its made the others not drop as often.

I concur, I have only had 1 EP, 2 Eggs and 2 Herbs in 5 str and only weaps that have dropped are about 5 snake bites. I don't know how the drop system works but it does feel like since the weps were added its made the others not drop as often.[/quote]

Tbh i am completely against the +1 fail method, I think if anything the drop rate should be slightly increased.

The anvil is much better now. Like Flickthebean said in the other thread, based on rolling odds your chance of making a +5 item is basically double so I'd leave as is for now.
I am also struggling to come by weapons but maybe that's because I'm still levelling.
