I just wanted to say a big thank you to you both iSylver and Finito for keeping the Myth of Soma alive.

It has been a real pleasure being able to wander the lands of Soma these past few years I have enjoyed my time here. I know this game means a lot to you both just as much to us players.

You both continue supporting this great game, continue to give your free time and energy to allow us players to play for free. I know this great game is in safe hands and in the best hands in you both. I hope more esoma players find this server because they will be amazed how much has been improved and be pleasantly surprised and impressed with all the new content that you both have done to this great game we all love and enjoy, I would definitely recommend old and new players of the Myth of Soma to give this server a try and I know you will once again be hooked on Soma.

That's how you teach kiddies to remember they are part of a team in the class, part of that class family so if a few play up the whole class gets into trouble. This theory relates to the community on here pull together have a go at the idiots who are jeopardizing what you want.

We all do appreciate keeping soma going for so long.

I just think it would be nice to take some pressure off them, Like isylver said he comes on and has to deal with complaints/bans/moaning so has no time to work on developments.

The boss shouldn't have to deal with this.

Maybe 5 people could be nominated to be something like the "Soma Court"

All complaints/bans/etc get reported directly to them and say once a week they all meet on discord and vote on what to do about the situations, i.e if someone send screenshots in of someone doing XYZ, they can vote to give say 3, 7 or 30 day ban. Or obviously nothing. Which ever decision gets atleast 3/5 votes is done.

If Dan didnt have to deal with all that side of soma i think he would be a lot less stressed.

Also a forum mod. So he does not have to clean up forum. Again someone voted for by community.

Taking these 2 things off dan will free his time up and hopefully not just give him a headache when he comes on.



And i know people will just say "act like adults etc" But i think most of the VK/DL side agree the rivalry is what keeps a lot of people playing, its and this does spill over into froum trolling ingame shouts etc. I think some of this is healthy but sometimes it goes over the edge. I mean just go and play CoD online on voicecoms if you want to hear real online abuse lol.

You could say that about anyone though, it isnt a reason why something like this should not be explored.

For example neutral players who are older, dont get involved with politics etc.

Youself, The_d0n, Lyon, Flickthebean (if he still plays), linny.

A panel like that i am sure would make the right decisions.

But before that a more clearer rules on what is bannable i.e how far is to far with banter. what swear words are allowed and not allowed etc. So its very black and white.

If i can someone for example a "prick" is that really worth a ban?

But if someone says something more personal like my baby is ugly for exmaple is that worth a 3 dayer?

I think things like personal insults, racisim, inciting harted/harm. should all be on the list.

But general banter between rivals shouldn't waste GMs time.

problem with a 'list' of what's allowed and isn't..it would be longer than the english dictionary... and even then would be cases in between that didn't fit the 'rules' ..this is proly why isylver hasn't tried..
just a basic common sense of fairplay and decency should be enough of a guideline.. obvs it isn't all the time.. but can't hope or expect for more than that.

If fourm then logs any deleted post/thread , isylver could keep a eye on what the mods are doing at his own pace

Keeps the place nice and clean that way and islyver can deal with the repeat offenders as and when he has the time

At the moment guild rivalries are all well and good it keeps most of you playing, without this I'm sure the user count would drop considerably. However there seems to be a trend of he said she said that did within the community, it's almost like everyone is jumping on the ban wagon.
A soma court I agree with you in some ways Sub but I would suggest that initially if a player has an issue it would first sent to the solicitor who along with his/her colleagues would decide if it should be sent to the judge to deal with I.e. Dan.
Language within soma is a tricky one as what is offensive yo one person isn't to another myself personally I dont like the C word. Name calling well how do you sort that one out? Maybe the old saying sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. Personal insults how many times have we heard these your fatvetc your a slag, personally again I feel that if you know the truth about yourself then you should just ignore.
When it comes to personal insults about peoples family or children yes that is upsetting and people should be given a warning dependant on what has been said. We have to take into account that unless people are aware of your situation they wont know their words have upset you.
Racism how do we deal with that? There is no room for this in this world let alone Soma however we must be aware that racism comes in different ways not just relating to the colour if ones skin, ageism sexism these are all forms of racism. Again thiu no firm if racism is acceptable.
Last thing I will say is...
Treat others how you would like to be treated. Keep soma going with your rivalries but loose the personal family toxic remarks.
I can't imagine anyone behaving like this when they leave their computers to venture out into the world again hopefully soon.
