I was just having a chat with Jibby and we were wondering, what is it about soma that brings us back time after time?
What brings you back ? |

I think you hit the nail on the head.
Soma is almost like a comfort blanket, a safe place where no matter whats going on life you can come here and just hit shit, lvl, upgrade, craft, talk shit with folk. It reminds me of a simple time, I started playing when I was 9 on esoma, through to pirate servers in my teens, and coming back here and there in my 20s. I guess Im saying I dont know exactly, but Soma was a part of my child hood, my hiding place when I was a teenager, and my comfort zone as an adult.

I'm exactly the same as you Jibby, except I'm an awful lot older (77). I started on esoma too, and the 'pirates', and here I am again, coming and going, then coming back.

PVP and my guildy’s, I don’t really care for any other aspect of the game, I just put up with it for the parts I do enjoy.
Upgrading is fun also I suppose, although it’s also the complete opposite sometimes, but sunshine wouldn’t feel so good if it wasn’t for rain.

FEEBLE |
The simplicity of the game. You know what your next goal is & what your end goal is
And one of the few mmorpgs that you can solo the whole game |

Soma's as an escape, a nostalgic one at that; from esoma during my early teens, to several incarnations of servers that never felt right, to this, home :)
the communal feel is always a plus, a great draw. and the never ending goals. |

A more accurate question would be, what pushes you away from Soma everytime?

"AYMANOV"A more accurate question would be, what pushes you away from Soma everytime? Lack of reward for amount of time I invest, as a crafter the majority of things I wish to craft require stupid amounts of bones, 2-3 hours at boars/trolls for a dozen or so bones ain’t cutting it for me. The farm isn’t big enough for more than 2 at each of the 2 spawns in there, farming lower level mobs for bones/claws just destroys the will to carry on. Rant over.
