Remove feathers / introduce new auras / improvements

Just an idea, not perfect but be good to have some feedback and any amends to it.

Remove feathers and replace it with random teleport scrolls...might solve more problems with pvp esp for spears, sword and knux.

The idea behind it, if your stuck and need to teleport out you should be able to (RT should work whilst you are grey).

Any archer/mage that want to engage in fighting can do so and if they feel like they need to run they can and if they need to use a scroll to escape from getting stoned or whatever then RT/TT should be the only option.

People will then think twice as to when to use it and you'll prob see more PVP happening.

We can also have the following skills to improve pvp / replace feathers.

Shoulder dash (melee skill) - Charge at your target pushing them back, inflicting damage when hit by obstacles. - CD 4seconds

Rage (melee skill) - Player enters a enraged state of mind where each weapon swing hits harder - duration 10seconds - CD 40seconds

Repulse (mage skill) - Pushes away mobs and people surrounding you.- CD 4seconds

Teleport (mage skill) - Spell that moves you to a location pointed on your cursor (similar to feathers but not random location) - CD 2seconds

Flinch should also be improved so that if target is flinched then they have to walk for 1-2 seconds before being able to run again - removal of feather is key for this to work effectively - mages can use their target teleport to escape it first time and random teleport to escape second round.

Last improvement I can think of but probably not necessary is to avoid the spam of stoning a single target, once a target is stoned they should be immune from getting stoned again for30 ish seconds.

Would repulse and shoulder dash have cooldowns also?
I've always liked the thought of instant cast style skills with cool downs
Though I think a 2s cooldown on mage to could be too quick, unless they were range limited it just plays into massive res, tp out precast, tp back, bang

But yeah I like all those :D

yep 4 ish or so seconds - similar to legend of mir for repulse and shoulder dash.
cool down and duration can be amended based on what everyone thinks - my thinking for 2second is to give mages the flexibility to quickly move out from a spot but yeah maybe 4second is better as by the time you react to the teleportation they may have moved again.

Couple of PK vids I managed to capture from a recent LOM Server.. (was my first time playing it in 15ish years)

LOM PVP 1
LOM PVP 2
LOM PVP 3
LOM GVW

They don't use feather they use RT when they need to opt out from PK.. you either opt in to fight to the death or teleport out delaying you from rejoining for potentially 10+ seconds - depends on the random TP luck.

I know few mir players who will defo try out soma if some of these skills/auras/pvp improvements are added

100% like to see more auras and diff kind of spells

like the idea of frost mage spell from wow( that freeze all targets around you) would break the freeze if attacked, but would be a nice crowned control spell that a mage could do with imo

Yep mir also has this and works fairly well to slow down your enemies .. would love to see it for mages

Just talking to a guildy about the ideas and maybe if the above were possible to do we can try it out for an event type like CTF first... we can test the shit out of it and if everyone agrees we can roll it out into the normal game.

i wouldnt want feather removed tho, theres lituly nothing to save you like feathers can, or to catch someone offguard (would need stuff adding to help with this before they was ever removed

thats why there is teleport for mages, and dash for melee.
there is a lot of game that don't use feather.. feather is actually a big reason why pk is shit and people just run about. if you need saving.. teleport first and if you need another instant saving, rt and come bk by using rt .. takes prob 10seconds to return.

feather just benefits mages and archer

All of this is gold. 100% agree with adding in aura's and removing feathers, i hate the randomness of feathers. Give pvp abit more skill

I wouldn’t mind this as a CTF style event, as I said when we discussed - but as a perm change to the game, Soma would no longer be Soma IMO.

-1 will only cause more people to teleport to town and run to a different hunting spawn. Doubt it will make for better pvp. As it stands people just take two and carry on. So much so its normal.

Ye I’m not sure about a complete removal of feathers, but I wouldn’t be against an even longer cool down. New auras would be a welcome edition 👍
