Upgraded mini maps

Thanks to Remix, he created some super high detail, high level views of all Soma maps.

You can find them here - http://uks.ovh/maps/ (they are huge and will take a long time to preview, suggest downloading first).

Some existing mini maps have historically been "poor" (e.g Pandemonium) or are outdated. Some you may want to keep for nostalgia or because they "should" have low detail.

Would the community - like some / all of them to be upgraded to these? We can probably provide instructions on how to get you the "old ones back" but it'd be a manual process to do.

+Buildings / Trees / other land marks are captured
+Terrain is captured
+The view is generally clearer
+We can make certain mini maps bigger without losing detail

How do people feel, this would purely be a cosmetic change?

PS I'd probably leave out mini maps for Dungeon 3 / 4 as they were designed to be without them - but thats personal opinion but maybe times have moved on?

Ye some amazing work there +1000

I do like how you have to learn the dungeon maps, but then at times its just plain anoying, would be cool if you could discover the map as you explore, or unlock it with a bunch of completed quests on that map

Gonna try and post this up side by side to give people a better idea (add in transparancy ofcourse) would need to shrink a bit more to keep proportions and not obscure the game view.

These are amazing but I don't think it's possible to have them implemented to replace the ctrl + m in game due to how the game reads those images :(

+1 from me apart from dungeon maps. It's a really unique part of Soma and really wish the dungeons were utilised more

They are ^^ We have the tools to convert them and Finito openly asked in his stream last night if we should use them. Is that a +1 from you yosh?

Really well done on these. +1 to using them!

Hope they can be added :)

Personally think the dungeon maps should be added as everyone in a half decent discord has the maps in it anyway.

great new reworked maps..wd remix ..
can't wait to utilise them en route to finding the new mobs for the next level cap increase.
Must be like baking a cake.. the artisan icing decoration man has prepared the fancy stuff, while the cake is baking in the oven.

As diablo1980.. i think.. said elsewhere.. soma was never a pvp focussed game...
was about hanging out, guild hunts.. mainly pve and the 2-3-4-5 years u played it was about gaining levels very slowly and never reaching the cap.. so always things to do... drops and upgrades were a bonus.
With the cap now, relatively easy to achieve, Soma seems to have become a pvp focussed game, with a group of players that enjoy it... and the other players are generally 100+ level trying to achieve the cap..who at lev 105 become cannon fodder for the pk brigade.
Nothing wrong with this ofc.. pvp is in the game.
However if pk or being in a big guild aint ur thing then it leaves little to do.
That's fine if that's what the player base are happy with, but the whole essence of Soma has now changed.. pk or not to pk .. unfortunately at the cap.. that's all there is.
Finito been on discord loads for the last months, and i'm sure he very busy doing his stuff.. can't fault his effort.. top marks. Many of the ideas in this section are qol or cosmetic changes. Personally i'd like to see ways of adding more gameplay.... xtra stuff and advancement of ur character, rather than just farming for drops and hoping the anvil is kind.
Maybe these things are underway, as bradley said 'lev cap + is on the horizon' tho never seen anything about it on the forum.. maybe Fox knows or other members of the volunteer group.. if it still exists...
'if it still exists'.... you'd think we might kno that, but unfortunately not really.. some infos and keeping players in the loop would be appreciated.. Maybe i just don't kno coz i don't use discord.

maybe have the minimap stick to top right hand side also since we can use higher reso and it wont obscure game view

Or even if its possible to run it as a second window alongside soma, where it still picks up your char and party members

Fin briefly said about making the map have actual information in it (maybe tooltips for useful info?). So making the map optionally centered to another part of the window might be nice. ^^
