After seeing a few topics on this in the forum as well as in Yoshmika' mega thread item 8 https://myth-of-soma.com/Forum/Thread.asp?ID=38291&title=Ideas+on+PK+%26+Moral&Page=1 I wanted to drive a bit more discussion on this top specifically.
Firstly I'm not against PK and not suggesting we radically change this, I'm suggesting some slight alterations to the system. 1) The addition of immunity is good as it stops constant grief, however you still have to have 2 kills to get this. It's not much, however its not true PvP. A lot of capped players go around killing players that are 105+. In line with the suggestions on Moral, if you are a Devil or Angel moral then you should have the ability to turn on/off PK immunity, Recognise it may not be this simple and further rework is required to perhaps add the new level up to +/- 100 it does reward players who are not PKing - Has been mentioned in mega thread. 2) Removal of immunity for hitting grey players; I like the idea that if you initiate PK you lose ability to be immune. However if you 'hit back' / defend yourself from a grey player you also lose this - in theory punished for trying to defend. With the addition of not being able recover this whilst in town you are subject to remain at risk of PK, by those same persons aforementioned in point 1 (who will grief you until you TP and log - there is no denying it, I've seen and witnessed it). So where for example a Melee class may be able to win against a Mage or vice versa with a level deficit, once you engage in defence you are effectively left open for farming for K/D boosting. I think if you defend against a grey player you do not lose immunity. 3) Benefits for top moral (suggested before) but again benefits for maintaining the top moral - in the interim if its just toggle of PK mode it would be a great help. 4) Impact for having worst moral; I don't agree to removing benefits i.e. drop rates, attendance to events, bosses etc... for those who are worst moral as this will drive people to quit. Perhaps just increase the challenge to the game that worst moral has such as; price increase and/or limitation on what can be brought, i.e. maybe only medium pots (+20) are available rather than +50/+100 etc - or you have 'pk pots' which are twice as heavy... this can be as simple as those brought from the PK shop have twice the weight (recognise people may just get alts/guildies to do this but simpler than trying to code moral specific pots) it just makes things more difficult - As i'm sure guildies would not want to be a constant pot mule for someone. 5) Punishment for abuse, boosting or taking advantage with multiple clients. it should be straight forward, abusers have KD zero'd problem solved. Suggest that any PKing of character from the same IP Address - I don't subscribe to 'what if my mates here and I pk him' well truly are you mates?? But if you want to 'test' yourself, use the Duel function remove ambiguity etc... Same comment for partners, if your partner PKs you all the time, is that really not going to lead to in real life consequences??! Finally I'll reiterate I'm not looking to moan or whine about PK etc... I'm looking at ways to improve that benefits all players, for me its fun to watch, I see the videos Afro posts of PK after GVW, boss hunts or spontaneously, its fun that for me is the 'good' side of PK. The bad side is people grief, they'll come and find you where ever you are levelling and pursue to grief you (for the 2 kills if you take immunity), and in some cases will then decide to try and target your mobs to interrupt hunting... again people know who they are that do this - I am not naming and shaming and that isn't the point I'm trying to make, just recognising reality that people do this. If your response is 'PK is part of the game' or 'Just take the 2 kills' please don't bother. I'm not looking for this thread to turn into a bitching contest. Constructive views & ideas welcome. Ta.

I disagree with all the points made above other than resetting the KD of players who feed their KD with another char on their own.
Personally think anyone who is asking for more PK prevention while immunity is in game is playing the wrong game. From what I've seen the UC has drastically decreased in the last month or so, probably because lock down is coming to an end and people are going back to work. This means less PVP and as a result those who still have plenty of time to play have stopped playing or aren't playing as much. The closest thing we get to PVP these days is people feathering to get into Nega portal while the other side tries to block them. Now imagine the impact even less PVP would have on the UC.

uc has decreased because the majority of players have capped and have nothing to do..
pvp wotever ur level is pretty pointless when u get attacked by 2 or more players.. hence the bigger guilds are getting involved in pk and every1 else isn't.. pk is a big part of the game... but the biggest part of playing soma is having levels and stats to gain and then ppl will have stuff to do without going round in packs hunting lev 105+ Seems to be gm improvements going on with some useful things, but imo the lev + should be top priority, and save these important but not essential adds for when there is a game to play... adding icing to a cake that isn't baked doesnt really help the uc... Nega boss is taking far too big of a centrepiece .. a whole game advancement shouldn't really be centred around this.. it drops m-tags ..and these are being spread around far too thinly to make others want to play.. if half a doz ppl are getting these day in day out.. wots the point for every1 else? * introduce a pvp area / pvp safe zones * some form of points based system for pvp with rewards within pvp arena.( points can be used to purchase valour scrolls etc) The issue as i understand it is you cap and then you pvp but with no reward . Alot of online games focus on pve and pvp with a pvp based arena to buy items / pots so grinidng pvp is then worth it. At the moment we have various boss spawns which are great but this then becomes a pvp match . This is only because both sides have numbers at that moment in time? Maybe a designated date and time to allow guilds to arrange for mass pvp fights like gvw but its point based kills like pos that stays with the individual that gets the kill. The ideas above should be taken as PRIORITY rather than extra levels and new mobs etc.... Some great ideas here, 90% of soma players who grind to cap and get good gear ultimately want PVP at the end.
The ideas above should be taken as PRIORITY rather than extra levels and new mobs etc....
Would love a map dedicated for PK where points are awarded on two basis
1) Taking part, for example for 10 minutes u spent on the map u earn something such as points towards valour
2) For every kill you get you get points
3) No moral penalties
Would need to be something that is fair i.e only allows your guild to warp to the map if even numbers

This isnt about ruining the game its a discussion to try make it better. We are activley trying to increase pvp in a way that gets more involved .
Maybe keep kd ? . I mean it wasnt in the game at start and the game wasnt ruined then but now it would wreck the game ? Id like to openly discuss without getting a store char log and view there point by saying crap like care bear and snowflake . Is there a way to stay on topic your view is appreciated:). Why not re set kd then and have that as the points system instead so more kills = reward but deaths counter ? Your not actually pvping your just running around chasing people out numbered , or logging when your out numbered its tactic s i agree but its not pvp its cat and mouse . Remove KD but keep the feed. The feed is a way more accurate way of showing who is "good" at pvp and who is "bad". A capped character killing hundreds of people at BLG/NM's gives 0 reflection on that players skill level. Getting kills on people who are evenly/better geared shows good skill level.
1. If there were mobs/drops to be obtained other than from mags. More people would be farming at cap, meaning more people around the pvp with. 2. Add in a new map (Abyss) with top end mobs and give it a level 125 resctriction. Or repurpose D4 and have GDG spawn in D3 with the boxes and mobs placed in D2. There's plenty of space. 3. Give the map a slightly higher drop rate % chance to incentivise hunting on this map. 4. Remove immunity for this map. 5. When the level cap raises put the new mobs there and add back in immunity so people can level in peace. The man here is trying to make suggestions on how to improve the game and people start flaming and trying to insult people? Can't this be kept constructive and on topic? Nothing will ever get done or changed if every single thread turns into a shit show.

I don't see why KD should be removed just because 1 or 2 people like to boost it. Its one of the coolest additions to the game imo and genuinely don't think removing it would change anything except annoy a lot of people
I think you should be allowed to fight back against grey players without losing immunity, doesn't seem right that people don't pot and just roll over for 2 deaths
