having been on the receiving end of this myself, the majority of the user count are of the age where real world matters drag you out of game quickly (e.g kids) often without time to log out instantly
how about introducing an afk mode which kicks in after 5 mins of 0 activity, making you immune to pk and everything else until you do anything in game which instantly brings you back out there is nothing worse than being dragged away then realising you've been grieffed and possibly lost items
