Human str gain concerns?

Author Content Date
I’ve spoken with a few people who have gone down the route of warrior builds but want to know how everyone else sees this.

Currently 238 is the str cap for trolls. At 235str it is 5% for 0.1 A lot of people stopped str at 230 because of how slow it was....

If a new mob is in place and it’s already 5% for 0.1 will the new mob in theory be more 6/7% to 0.1 after 238str. I know a lot of mages are capped 230int but I don’t know anyone who’s capped str. If there’s no one capped then a new str mob is null void, there’s no reason why anyone would hunt a new mob if not at 238str? (Unless new mob gained str same rate % as trolls)
Is there any benefits hunting new mob str at say 230str will str be faster or slower?

Am I over thinking this? I see 100s of capped mages I don’t know one capped melle char. Either way I have many builds to play with just looking at one side of it.

the new mob might have qwikker % gains @238 str+ .. the problem is, hardly any1 will cap 238 str at trolls especially with the current 5%ish per .1 @ 230-5+.. so they won't even see the new mele mobs
reducing that % can't be 'backdated' so..
either 10 more levels .. or
at lev 126+ u get more stats for ur %

this might tempt warriors into getting a decent amount of int they badly need..
and maybe mages might catch up on some dex..
and dex mages..well they can do a bit of what they fancy
possibly..
needs a man with a pen and paper, calculator and work some shit out
possibly if Linny's good with maths.. a woman might do it too .. or any other woman will do
x

Yeah it is a genuine problem when you basically say 1 lvl = 2.0 str so 5 lvls @ 10 str for 10 attack.

should do another 5 levels with same stat caps to let classes balance out first

Caps were set to high at the 120 patch imo

you answered your own issue

str cap = 238? or 239?

int cap = 230?

of course more int characters will have hit the cap it was lower

now the cap is equal at 255? you'll not see any mage who capped at 230 able to get anywhere near 255 no way in 5 levels they'll get that much int?

Problem with last cap raise was that warriors could get more str than mages could int? this surely balances the issue?

other benefit of a new mob will be potentially a different drop file and of course trolls will surely be rammed as everyone from 200 str will be there?

Probably better keep it slow. Stop people piling all their levels into increasing DPS, only for them to continue to complain they can't survive mages.

Melee could easily cap if they weren't trying to do dex also. every 5.0 is approx 15% slower so you can map out that you're going to get approx 8-9 str on cap if you were 239, and ~10-11 int if you are 230. It's just forcing you to make a decision, whether you continue to min/max on 1 or 2 stats or round out a character when you can gain 15 int for 2 str, it's your choice to decide on what the "best" option is.

Also as per usual Lupi is wrong, mobs wont give better stat %, all mobs after 171 str are on 1.0x modifier so equal stat gains per % for the same str.

@adept
no1 is talking about modifiers ..
if gm;s decide that 6 or 7 % is too much for .1 str on the new mobs.. then they simply change it to 3% or wotever they decide will take stats forward in a more productive way.. as usual

That's not how it works...

Str tables are based off a modifier. For simplicity and as an analogy to how it works, imagine that 1.0 STR takes 1,000 XP for 200 str. So 200-205 str takes 5,000XP, and 205-210 would take approximately 5,750XP (1.15x more XP per 1.0 str than the previous 5 str, which is roughly how it is here). This is monster agnostic, it's based on XP, not the monster.

So take someone who has 235 str, if they kill trolls or the new monster the XP requirement (as % of level for the same level) should also be identical, otherwise you have just broken the game and people will hunt the new monster from 171 str onwards to capitalize on the "faster" str gains (relative to %)

Now the catch 0-171 str was that depending on your relative str vs. monster str, that XP requirement is changed, however after 171 it is not.

ye.. i said at str cap on trolls ..when move to new mobs.....
like doing hell trolls b4 201 str .. i know they give same stats as boars.... no need for the fancy numbers. we all kno

How it works is.. when uv capped a mob with str..and move onto a new mob.... the gm's decide what % is needed for stat gains on the new mob.. that was the point of the thread

OK, well... you don't know clearly because you're talking utter shite about % when the mob has nothing to do with the % gains. Better to keep your trap shut on matters you have no idea about than pipe up and continually show yourself to be not only uneducated on the matter, but willfully ignorant.

I would think that your stats will increase in the same % of experience regardless if you stay at hellish trolls or move to the incoming new melee mob.

It will come down to what drops your more interested in trying to get, but if there att/def dex will most likely be higher than hellish trolls I would think only the high dex warriors will be levelling or farming them.

Will just have to wait till there added to armoury to find out what there stats/drop file looks like to give us all the chance which may be worth levelling/farming on.

ISylver has stated many times all new mobs will no longer give any bonus in stats and will give the standard 1.0 ratio, so like temeroso said in his post, the new mob might actually be null void levelling wise.
