Does the stat bonus also affect stat bonus gains when punching.

I.e. i have 88 str. I hunt Evolved Beasts as i am at more than -30str and gain additional stat bonus. But i was told to go to hwan AB's to punch where i am only -19str.

What is the correct thing to do? Am i punching efficiently or should i be at a stronger mob?

The bonus for punching applies the same as for melee. It's just a little harder to get any bonus as your damage is relatively low. If you can stumach it EB would be better.

The problem is the lower level mobs have high defence (EB have close to 90 defence), which means you'll do only 1 damage to them when punching. It'll be horribly time inefficient for you to punch them. Better to punch AB even though they are worse stats.

Id go tarkhilli paladins rather than abs.

Is there a good time to punch as an axer? I.e. should i punch at a certain lvl or str to ensure my dex doesnt lag too far behind?

Also at what str should i punch eb?

Since the new mobs noone can tell you what to do as an axer as you should be able to lvl with axe up to lvl 100. Basically other than punching for the int required to do WBM it's all up to you.

I do want to be an axe user that is above the norm in term of int and dex. I want to be able to have really good int and dex as an axe user.

But atm I don't know what the 'optimal' stages are to punch. I.e is it best to leave punching till later lvls or is it best to gradually punch throughout all lvls. Or is there another system to follow.

id say split your punching up, do 20% per level, once you hit 90 str punch till you hit 73 int (punch Tark warriors)

then about 104 str punch EB for a lvl or two, try to minimise the dmg WBM do with there magic to make them a little easyer to hunt

pm intheface ingame and ask him, as far as i can tell the dude has done nearly all his lvls punching and hes well into his 60's and an axer, pretty sure he skilled on delivery guards so dont know how you could follow the same path without wep skill waiting for you. would be worth asking him
