After 171 Str, does it matter which weapon I use to gain Dex or are all weapons normalised?

Or, is it still the case that using a bow returns the best Dex in the lowest %age?

Final question, a two-parter, what Str do I go to Hellish Trolls and what Str do I leave them for Vafer Raptors?

Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated :)

after 171. u gain a set % depending on the weapon. so u can use sword or knuckle. instead of using bow then axe. as the gains would be the same

boars till 200 str
trolls till 239 str
vafer till 255 str

So just to clarify (because I'm dumb!) weapon type is irrelevant after 171 Str. I could just use axe, for example, and still gain Str and Dex at the same %age as if I were using any other weapon?

If my understanding is correct, is it just a case of finding the weapon with the highest dps (low recoil and high damage) to make grinding experience faster?

no. you would gain them at the % an axe would. 170% str 30% dex. all weps give at a diffirent rate. your just not forced todo bow then axe anymore after 171
