On a store char... cause my main is banned for unknown reasons...
But when I levelling on dsoma, immunity stopped me quitting because I would be followed wherever I went and pk’d. I don’t get the immunity has driven people away argument? People are driven away by no end game content, such as the ever promised hoarde mode. Pking is part of the game, but the UC is so small it’s the same people doing the same things. People who just want to enjoy a bit of the normal game without having pk rammed down their throat will disappear if immunity goes and it’ll be people who just want pk complaining immunity has ruined the UC...

"CORLEONE" Been done for a long time now. Introduction of immunity in the first place fucked the game. PVP players want more PK, PVE players now feel they’re entitled to immunity and throw a fit when anyone suggests a nerf to it, it’s impossible to find a middle ground. Of course Soma’s saviour is (soon?) to be released. Hoarde mode, a non PVP event for everyone to earn valour to buy new weapons and armour to upgrade and use in the arena and attend PVE bosses. How exciting hhhhhhhh

how about..
put a 15-20 ish range safe zone around bosses... bring back the 2 ( for immunity ), but no immunity pots for over 125's ( maybe them dailys could be cashed in for a little valour ) under 125's can use immunity pots as is atm |

The problem soma has and will never be able to over come is simple:
1. The damage output between endgame and near endgame is gargantuan, meaning soma will never really get rejoining players or new players in any large amount, as you can’t realistically compete for the first year. 2. Soma is now essentially a battleground between two large guilds and their subsidiaries, to the detriment of all else. 3. It’s out grown it’s fun for most and become a monkey poo fight at the zoo for the rest. 4. Soma initially thrived with a community of people who had little in The way of life responsibilities, back in 2002 most were young with no jobs, kids etc. The majority of gamers are now 30-40, even consoles largest market is the players who grew up with games and are now mid thirties. Games have evolved over time to reflect this. Most MMO’s now are designed for players with lives. So I’d humbly suggest looking after each other more as you are probably the final hurrah of soma and if the majority quit it won’t recover.

there's a large number of players who maybe on a rest/break or indeed still playing... always a hunger for more Soma
gm's have and are introducing more stuff.. all good. would be nice to see a little relaxation in the efforts needed to get some of this new stuff.. no1 wants easy items.. just a sprinkilng of ''gm generosity'' would be welcomed by all the new update only been in a week.. so plenty of time for tweaks and additions maybe less stick and more carrot, makes for happier, hard working donkeys ... x

Tbh i am torn in this argument, when I played in dsoma and hsoma I always enjoyed the pvp and pking side of things.
For the pkers who are by and large already geared, they don't enjoy farming or need to.So after having put so much time in gearing and living they now don't have the thrill of the chase and killing others. However the pk is normally by and large kinda shit anyway. People just tp. People run. People feather. People come and out number opponents. People then grief and follow others from map to map. I've seen the other side where people actually enjoy hunting farming, working on gear set ups and fighting occasionally in groups or solo. Sadly we have a large active group who love the fight and drama. Log many hours of the day and position noobs in every town or trace every map to hunt and pester their enemy. The casual player who wants a few hours to farm or quest is then driven away. The user count is small needs to try and cater for the little it has. I agree a savage map would be interesting giving a slightly better drop rate on mobs and boss spawns or bosses allowing people to pk away and drop gear, along with another casual map where you could take 2 hunt and farm with immunity after.

Could easily make the dungeon maps the new horde or savage map.
Remove most/all of the inner walls. Fill each dungeon level with vafers/spiders, trolls/wasps, mags/elders and once each level is cleared the following bosses are spawned. Dungeon level 1 - all tyt bosses spawn Dungeon level 2 - all merc bosses spawn Dungeon level 3 - all abias bosses spawn Dungeon level 3 - all vod bosses spawn Increase the drop rates in the dungeon, no immunity due to the higher reward of drops.

I think a fair few of us stopped playing after 2 kill immunity left, I really think if the GMs just waited it out, the game would have opened up a bit more, old players/groups who enjoy PKs would have eventually adjusted while fresh players/casual players join to enjoy their evenings on a free game.
Then it got binned, all back to square one lol!

CORLEONE |
There are some decent points for immunity mentioned above. Personally I don't think there should be any immunity but that's just me and I completely understand that the average user is busy with life etc etc.
I think the best solution is to give PVE map with x1 rates and x1 drops. (No valuable drops either because of the inevitable botting) - switch some mobs around, will need adjusting, doubt anyone would get it right first time. PVP maps with x2 rates and x2 drops with NO immunity. More frequent boss spawns etc etc. This has already been suggested but I still feel it is the best idea going forward. Thanks to everyone who responded with productive replies, glad to see it!
