What you have to understand about mags, elder mags are these 2 mobs are meant to be end game mobs, for farming for the high/capped players.

So these mobs should drop the best items with the exception of the new valour weapons and armour and the +6 soul boss accessories.

That being said I would agree the elders need to be dropping a mage earring and necklace just like there warrior type for agility earring/necklace otm etc.

Shak tier weapons are of no use for elders, but rubies and diamonds are, I would also say there’s a case for the ancient mage armour to replace the bitter bone so that it has both warrior armour in Titus and mage in ancient.

There’s possibly call for the +5 accessories to be added to the elders and +3 to normal mags.

Why not?

Three very good reasons;

1) The drop file is already exuberantly magnificent

2) Not every player reaches "end game" and it creates an increased disparity between characters (as an example, there was someone trading FIVE pieces of upped champion armour (and weps?). Most players won't ever be able to get ONE piece and the vast majority will never have a wardrobe of upped items like that in a lifetime of Soma (so the disparity increases even more with Rubies and Diamonds being added)

3) Not every end game character can farm the Elder Magmas (please don't say that's a choice when building the character because then they would all end up the same or similar)

Asking for more from the Elder Magmas is just plain greed to enable you to gain more of an advantage over other players.

If you want medium rubies and diamonds, go hunt a mob that drops them.

Way i'm looking at mags / elders atm is : normal mag's are redundant.

When Elders first come out they were thriving. Melee + mage 3 ppl vs 1 Elder. Few years later + lvl raise Mages can take 5 before potting ( doing 1 at a time ) and melee 3maybe? seen a few people melee doing 2-3 at a time without md gear on.
From a P.O.V of someone who normally hunts elders ( mainly when owning conti ) 70% is untag-hard bb / xbow tear. Which under Epic gets left ( apart from mm / xbow which under rare ) But still with Bitter Bone being 105str? Why in a " End game mob " Surely Titus - neg wep - tabs something worth farming. My noobs at Boars and getting there Bitter Bone stuff @ 171-201 str - for a 105str piece armour?
Lower lvl's you have armour that goes up in stages 11str - 15str - 31str - 39str - 51str ( or wat ever it is ) then mass gaps. 105str - 125str - .... Champion set ( not sure what str as dont own 1 yet ).

Yea thats decent. With damage being so high surely fp/oe could actually be added too actually!

I’d love to see ancient / rubies and SD drop from elders. Would certainly give me the incentive to come back and actually play rather than spend 15mins at a boss and log off.

Elder mags drop file is trash up until a week ago there was only 1 item that is worth anything… the new 1 hand axe and sword has added a bit of excitement to the drop file but 2k in I’ve had 1 non tag axe …..

Mags do need a rethink on drops 100% gems needs to be added.
