PROWLER	Could we have a volunteer person to be a “purveyor of news” please? This would stop the tittle tattle, fake news, doubt, confusion, conspiracies etc etc and provide all players with a source they can go to for the latest updates regardless of Discord. News would be Events/Rates - starting/endings. Updates. Official "Clues" for recipes and any general information released by GMs The character will NOT be in game and can be messaged only through the forum. The character WILL be able to liaise (PM) with iSylver/Finito (so the GMs have only ONE character to answer questions to instead of a galaxy of PMs) Folk can PM the Purveyor of News on the forum anytime and can hope for a reply within 24 hours. PROWLER	It's imootable that some folk are not on discord and never will be. I didn't know there was a link at the bottom of the page (never scrolled down enough) When I did join discord, it was full of so much intelligible guff that it was impossible to filter out anything meaningful. I don't mean to be disrespectful but discord is full of utter shite. The suggestion is a bona fide attempt to have a single meaningful source of information that all players have access to. WEDDINGCAKE	I don't think having someone between us and the GMs is going to work, we had the "council" and that only failed due to the link between them and the GMs wasn't as constant as they/everyone had hoped. Everyone has ideas but unfortunately and fundamentally if time can't be put into adding new content it just doesn't work. You might as well speak to a brick wall hoping for a cap raise. And this is no dig at GMs but that's how it is and everyone spends their free time doing different. Where you may come home from work and spend 6 hours on soma another person may come home and spend 5 hours with kids and 1 hour at the gym. We cannot as grown ass adults expect everyone to be the same way built, especially after 15 years of running it... This server is only up because Dan knows how important it is to people, he gets no gain no thrill no oomhp from logging in in his spare time to see 100s of complaints, questions people asking for more. of course we all want updates but its not going to happen at the pace we all want it. We have a good system in place on front page with latest news. I would like to see this used A LOT more. I don't think Dan or Fin know how good it is seeing something updated here. And I know there's been changes in game that dont get a mention here. I would personally like to see EVERY little change updated on the front page. If its as simple as - We've added Diamonds to Magmus. Ranted a little but ... I remember I came back and they’d changed it so you had to be in PK mode to hit a grey now, I had absolutely no idea what was going on and thought my char/client must be bugged or someone was hacking - things like this must happen all the time. Someone told me there was a new spell, that’s a prime example of something that could excite an old player if they heard about it, but no mention on the news feed. RAVENSOUL	It’s a nice idea Prowler, but I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Having to sift through 90% of accusations of cheating, botting, he said, she said blah blah blah tit for tat. What your suggesting is a forum/discord moderator which has been suggested many times, even iSylver asked players to put them self forward for a type of advisory role ingame/forum/discord but even that seems to have disappeared without any outcome. I’ve always stressed many times in past that the main website of any game is the first call of any person, regardless of current player, returning player, potential player or accidental visitor. The news section is a vital part of any game website in that it allows to show to everyone that, it is still alive and kicking, it’s being cared for, looked after, worked on. It allows everyone to see what changes, tweaks, fixes, additions, upcoming events etc However small or big newsworthy it should imho always, always be posted on the website’s news section for all to see. Fair point about minor updates being posted though. I’ve got a todo list as long as my arm I need to sort for bug fixes and finishing horde etc. Time just isn’t allowing atm. However, to echo Weddingcakes point it’s certainly not enjoyable logging on to 500 complaints because we’re not giving the amount of updates people expect. I probably need to do a better job of setting expectations - we will put in what time when we can. We can’t commit to an abundance of time anymore. We’re both older with jobs, families etc. So if people are expecting the level of service you’d perhaps get from other MMORPGs then it pains me to say it but that’s not here. PS. Still think we do more updates than esoma ever did not that it should be the benchmark. MIKELOWREY	Oops my bad on that one lol! 😅 Yea it must be pretty demotivating at times all the disgruntled posts/criticism etc. For what it’s worth, I’m sure we can all agree this server has been the best by a long shot. I would say though if just one place is to be updated on changes implemented, is between discord and the news feed - the news feed is a much better place for it IMO.
