Just thought i would share my thoughts on the current state of server since playing again after a long time.
Positives: The game is far improved since last playing with the quest tracker, new mobs, cap raise, better rates, more bosses, whole valour system. The daily quest system is good and does give an incentive for people to login daily, i believe this could be even more built upon. Immune pots and pvp does seem fair now and i like the changes made to this. Its nice to be able to have an hour chilling hunting at the end of a day but also can take part in PVP if you choose. What i think the game needs: The game really needs a new end game farming mob now, i tried elder mags and its still the same experience as it was in 2016 and the drops seems to not be to relevant now as its all about valour and sds it seems. So a new end gamemob with multi spawns and lots of quests with upto date drops would be nice. Some sort of "Fresh start" once a year i think might work well, i dont like the idea of ladder char games but a reset of things like POS/GVW wins/KDR/ might give people a refresh for the competitive side of things with each of these giving some sort of reward at the end of the year? Also the horde mode just seems a bit dead i have not done it yet as never enough players going? So cant really comment on what to do to improve but it does seem a bit of a waste for all that work.

Just one problem i have with horde is that when playing the map at the end of of each wave if you are not near the center of the map you are TP’d back to the center but also counted as eliminated an having to rely on others to stay alive. Hopefully this can change.

Can think of loads of tweeks but realistically we have to rely on someone’s free time to do this so will keep brief
1. Make a new mob like mags that drops relevant stuff like Dias tom tov and frags and say an item u can exchange for 10 valour and also lots of barrr!! 2. Introduce 2 death immunity again upto 130 3. Remove small Dias from DF/Palus 4. Tweek hoarde mode to make it more enjoyable by either removing hsoma having dsoma mobs or make it scale to amount of players inside 5. Make changes to gvw (no idea what tho as has been talked about so many times)

Cap mob dex to 200 on trials valour
Move gedusa to wave 15 (nobodys reached 20 in months) Quests This might get more people attending. And most importantly remove sd from low level botting mobs!!!!! Add to mags. |

would like to add.. after halloween event (nice) and a few quests , got my 1st valour bow and couple of champ pieces.. bow broke at +5 trying for 6 broke 2 x +7 bows in the last week.. and 2-3 +6's has knocked the stuffing outta me.. there was talk of revamping the anvil and upgrading? some of the above ideas about new farming mobs. whilst very good ideas..and many of the others listed above are 2-3-4-5 years old.. maybe gm's haven't the time, or indeed the inclination to do anything.. could the dropping of valour be re-introduced.. even if just 2-3-4-5 a day .. during halloween ..a few a day kept the 0 valour monster at bay there's quite a few returning players ingame atm.. a few qol changes might help keep the interest going and add life to the server.. we all know there's a great game here x

I keep coming back, playing for abit and it’s always the same thing that drives me away. The RNG of farming and the anvil.
1) All high end mobs blg/nm upwards on hsoma and same on dsoma should have a repeatable quest. Kill 1200 and get to pick 1 item from the drop file. 2) the anvil or the brutality of it needs changing. I’ve lost motivation again and stopped as 4 Val weps, 2 hard, 1 rare and 1 epic didn’t make it anywhere. 2 died trying for +3 and 2 died trying for +3. This is a great game ect but the brutality of the rng and breaking items just shouldn’t be a thing when the average player is prob mid 30’s children and family playing for nostalgia ect. Obviously GM presence is extremely low. The problem with the anvil rng on soma is that it means the strong keep getting stronger, at the disadvantage of those who can't commit more time to the game.
If you're lucky enough to get a valour weapon that goes +4/5, it makes farming and boss killing disproportionately faster. This in turn means you end up accumulating drops at a much faster rate than other, which then gives you many more opportunities to up your gear. It's a brutal system and would never make it into a 2022 game. I like the idea of a 'ghost' upgrade system, where a fail doesn't break the item. Although it would probably kill off the economy even more than it is already.

What's sad is so many of these things have been requested for years.
There's such a huge gap between all weapon tiers and the valour weps. Would it be possible to x2 the upgrade success of all weps up to and including nega weps..and leave the valour wep success as it is? And make valour more accessible in the way of a few drops here n there. As regards armour and accessories.. maybe make that 2x more likely to upgrade.. duno.. But a little less harsh system would be very welcome for all. Get rid of di's from df and palus as suggested, increase the rate at top end mobs that currently drop them..and add to mags.. loads of qol ideas above to get things moving along.. and otd's suggestions sound good too On the other hand.. maybe we just have to take what's given and be grateful x

Or something like that, but even an int nega bow is nowhere near a hard val bow. Making the daily quests to suit players who can only do 1-2 hours to "catch up" with the ones who can do 16 might work, i am not sure how maybe just more rewards in shop? End game mob/some sort of "reset" for things, and even a mass unban would defo bring the UC up a lot.

Thats a very good point about the gap between nega weps and val weps, nega weps are redudant now but really for example an epic/int nega now shud be the same as a hard/rare val bow ? Or something like that, but even an int nega bow is nowhere near a hard val bow.
Making the daily quests to suit players who can only do 1-2 hours to "catch up" with the ones who can do 16 might work, i am not sure how maybe just more rewards in shop?

More repeatable quests with decent rewards are needed for main end mobs (levelling/farming mobs) The last 2 end farming mobs need tweaking in all areas, there too close to each other and not enough of them. There drop files seriously need addressing and changing to more relevant items since majority of items dropped by both mags and elder mags are worthless same problem with last few tiers of mobs tbh the drop files need tweaking. The fresh start idea might actually increase the UC. For all the players that where hounded off this server from the sad twats that constantly killed them over and over and over namely the PvE players they might just come back knowing there kd could be reset. The main trouble for the hoard map/event is simple..... The UC is far too low to maintain high amounts of attendees every soma day add to this that you have to be on at a certain time (the casual player is penalised for only having an hour or 2 whenever there free) of the day plus the cost of the entrance charge it’s unsustainable in its current form. You should be able to create a group (x amount of players minimum) to enter at any time of the day regardless of what time it is. As for all the talk on the anvil/rng...... Can take many weeks/months of farming to get to point of walking to that anvil and we all know in a matter of seconds you will be over the moon and grinning or crying your eyes out it’s brutal plain and simple. Ghosting, not a fan and deep down neither of you are cause your bullshitting if you think you’d be happy having fake +’s on your items. Because we all want that perfect +8 item for all our items. Just make it so that on a fail the item you tried to upgrade reverts back to its original state, that way you only lose the upgrade item and it might be luck and only take 8 attempts to get your +8 item or could take you 12 attempts, 25 attempts or take 40 attempts but you will eventually have that real upgraded item all shiny +8 pride and joy in your inventory. It will help the economy because most of all players will use combine more often trying to get intense tags, more players will enjoy farming more knowing only there upgrade items will be lost, the economy will improve from more players enjoying soma once again, win win for all.

doubt anyone's gona be knocking your door after 9 years of running a ps i'd like some coloured shout scrolls pls x ( palus/ df could drop apus tier weps/ roks etc... give new players a hand up ready for blg's )
