so, I thought it was time to get con from 30 to 32.
Over 40 minutes for 0.1 con! So, that's over 13 hours of "nothing" to get to 32 con! No wonder people are resorting to afking this! Ridiculous and unnecessary total waste of limited playing time! Same applies to healing to 100 int! Needs fixing urgently please!

Healing to 100 int should not be easy. But what they should do is bring back the ability to healwind multiple chars and gain it faster. I do not mind the grind to get to 32 con... set up a healer and just go shopping or out for a night when you come back it is done.

but that's my point - what a total waste of time con is as it stands....

"BIGBERT"but that's my point - what a total waste of time con is as it stands.... If you feel like the slight increase to hp and bw are worth it, go for it - if not, dont bother. Its not mandatory. |

When constitution was capped at 30, it felt like a brick wall doing 29 to 30 con. Now that the cap increased to 32 they just moved that brick wall to 31 so it would somehow feel like some achievement, trouble is the hp gains are absolutely terrible. Another aspect that seems to have been nerfed to hell and back, but apparently the hp gains are a combination of strength, dexterity, intelligence and constitution.
At least esoma hp gains were rewarding depending on your constitution, when you knew x con gave 9hp or 10hp or 11hp etc. When you look at what hp a character has at level 135 it’s no way near enough imho, I’ll go as far to say there’s a minimum 200 hp less than there should be.

Welcome to Soma - where people confuse tedium and timesinks with difficulty and challenge, and going shopping and sleeping with gameplay.

"3D"Welcome to Soma - where people confuse tedium and timesinks with difficulty and challenge, and going shopping and sleeping with gameplay. That's just how soma is. Outside of pvp, there's no real "skill" requirement for anything in game. There are just series of tasks to do x for y amount of time. I'm not sure how you would add anything that requires skill within the current framework of the game. Possibly some reactionary stuff. There is a certain charm to it though - that's why we are still playing, and despite its flaws & limitations, still love a game that's been dead for 20+ years from a commercial standpoint.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying 'skillful' things should be added or anything like that. I enjoy the core gameplay loops of soma.
It just amuses me when people say things like "It shouldn't be easy to heal to 100 int" and then immediately go on to explain how you do it all afk. Personally I think con is kind of a silly mechanic, there's no need to make people spend 50 hours or whatever semi afk. And don't get me started on healing to 100 int, that should have been changed as soon as it became apparent that was the optimal route.

Apparently healing to 100 int only saves you 2-3 stats in the long haul, so not much really especially when it comes down to gear in the end.
Maybe we shouldn’t be talking about the free 100 int for 0 experience if your willing to put the time in cause the gm’s might just move the goalposts arrrghhhhh. The best method for gaining stats was the griefing yourself method, until it got removed 😉

Aye, it becomes less efficient as more levels get added. It's still the optimal way to min-max though and something done almost exclusively afk - in a game struggling with bot problems.

I must be the minority, cause I’m always at my pc/laptop.
I’ve done the griefing back on esoma, I’ve done the healing to 100 on here, I’ve done the aura casting esoma and here, I’ve done numerous 32 con characters and it’s all boring as hell only method I haven’t tried is the last hit for maximum experience but I think I’d end up in the nut house if I took that challenge on 🤪
