I believe soma could do with building up the teamwork theme to improve and hopefully increase the UC.

I constantly hear good things about TOV that I’m actually considered taking part one day. So why not build on the teamwork of soma, encourage the best of the community working together for the good of the game.

All the events seem to be on a timer, time 5 for this time 6 for that, time 10 for another.

Create dungeon runs, consisting of a 10 minute countdown and 50 minutes of taking part every soma day which would create 4 dungeon runs per soma day.

Each dungeon level requires all mobs to be killed and a boss or bosses spawn to allow entry to next level, each level means higher level mobs, the aim is to reach level 4 dungeon where a dungeon master would spawn, could drop valour scrolls for everyone, chance of champ armour dropping etc.

This would give each race something to attend every hour, instead of the usual 4 hour waits etc.

i suggested something like this to fin a while back personalised keys to enter the next dungeon level. he said was feasible but never got round to doing. would stop all the people who logged there too

The thought behind the teamwork is ultimately creating a bigger UC plus with events being set in stone at certain times of a real life day, the dungeon runs allow the chance of more interaction, more fun, more enjoyment, more reason to log on outside the normal time x y z timeframe.

We need to attract more players with a reason to log on other than the time x y z scenarios, more teamwork themed events create a better UC.

This dungeon run map doesn’t need to be the current dungeon maps, all it needs is a longish map with bottlenecks involved to create small battles at certain points with a boss or bosses at end to activate entrance to next level, 4 levels seems about right for a 50 min run.

I know mr Fox would enjoy the challenge creating a map like this 😉 since I have seen a map of his creation for hwan to create a small town for devil race. Even if The same map is created 4 times for this dungeon run who really cares, it’s about creating teamwork, creating a greater community environment and above all fun and enjoyment for the greater good of the UC and of soma.

I totally agree about survival and teamwork. ToV was relatively like that a few months back when I joined, save for one or two. I just wish It was an actual map though.

The Western Continentals Area map was designed with that purpose in mind that you mention ( https://myth-of-soma.com/Forum/Thread.asp?ID=34750&title=Map+release+%2D+Western+Continental+Castle+Region&Page=1.


So when iSylver wanted a "horde map" that was literally all he said and then this was discarded and thrown out and I believe that was because they wanted something "fun, small and easy" rather than "faithful, drawn out and efforted" or simply put "meaningful". No one gave it the time of day to even try it.

The map I linked was meant to be a event survival map with the mobs spawning from a unique portal in the bottom right "island". When the event wasn't in existence though, it had some unique named NPCs by certain players that were memorable / special to them and what I consider "RP" elements to it. It also was designed so it could link to the main Conti map (bottom left channel area). So a GM could choose to use it as a full time map and incorporate it into the main game or not do that and just make it a event map thats used only at certain times. And it's designed open enough to even be a co-op cross world map for such an event.

I did this image you could see the various paths that existed in the map. The top right is the player spawn area - the edges of conti castle - that leads players to the northern lava 'resupply' area. Then there's a bridge into the overall map. There you could run right down to the bottom right and head off against the spawning "dark portal" itself - before, inevitably being pushed back, further and further until everyone gets killed.



But yes, I would be happy to do something, again, I just would need to know it would be used :p

The map you have created would do well for end game farming with top end mobs, vafers, trolls, wasps, spiders, mags, elders.

No immunity on this map, all mobs drop top end items etc.

The dungeon run map/maps only need to be like a huge corridor but lengthy with a gate or door or stairs at the end to reach the next level.

Don’t take this personally as it’s not directed at you but all to often I’ve made suggestions, created artwork for items, new maps and assets and either it isn’t used, doesn’t get much comment or notice. Never mind my attempts at sharing my knowledge of the map editor and and writing various guides. Never mind various ideas I’ve made that then get used years later without thanks.

Everyone’s quick to say something isn’t quite right or suitable but they don’t even take the time to try something out.

So I’m going to going to sit out further suggestions and my name, if someone wants to do something that people can agree on, they can put in some of the effort I have. There’s no great secret or mystery to all of this, just a bit of time.

So over to the people that know better but can’t explain exactly what they want or need but neither can agree with others.

And no need for a response, Raven, it isn’t you but it is me, me that wants to do more for the game repeatedly but it’s time I move on myself. Someone else maybe willing.

This game needs more maps, new items (everything included armour, weapons, accessories etc) there is only so many times you can stand to see a re skin of this, that and the other.

These new maps I speak about need to be for end game entertainment, they need to bring teamwork into the purpose.

Do not give up mr Fox, if anything if I was you I would be creating a thread including all these maps, artwork etc for all to see that you have spent time and energy creating and I guarantee you will receive positive feedback.

We are down to one GM currently, I know Finito is a magician but he could do with help, you have your talent mr Fox stick with it and blow the community’s mind and show them everything.

a plan of multiple versions of arm / access / weps. so they can be op at start then once arms etc are made they balance out. multi stat drop items with being able to upgrade an individual stat of an item. needs to be well thought out and then released with active or atleast random spot checks day and night. ignore video's and shit people make as its so easy to fake shit with servers being readily available. i know people who used to make a p server and then bot with a certain char name and then send them in constantly to try get them banned.

unless a gm is ingame and witnesses etc then its just here say. and further allows toxicity. the recent discord stuff has been actually disgusting.
