Yes it’s great to see our GM actively banning known/caught cheats of soma, but with the current UC does it help the server or hurt the server......

So as most know I am totally against cheats, don’t see the point in cheating after all games are meant to be a challenge but I won’t go on about playing by the rules for once. The UC is on the low side, yes there are many new games out recently that always draw our UC to play them but I keep hearing that Tov and many other events... wow, gvw etc have low numbers is it just another case of players taking a break or has the community pushed the UC too low.

Would a complete amnesty help? Would it be right to draw a line and give everyone one more chance? Knowing that if unbanned they better play by the rules or there gone for goood?

You know me Lupi, I’m all in favour of cheats being banned but I was hearing mixed views recently and last thing I want for soma is a dwindling UC. Low UC = no economy = the end.

I haven’t seen much in regards to the direction of soma, future tweaks/additions etc and was slightly worried those that still play and are enjoying there soma journey that there wasn’t much to look forward too. I know Finito does his best, he’s the only GM about, but no news tends to bring the worst expectations from the community.

I guess is there any news? What are the future aims/targets of soma? Any news on what your looking into/working at? Bug fixes/tweaks/Qol etc.

It's kind of depressing that the cheats are finally being dealt with and even you, Raven, are suggesting that maybe they shouldn't be. Let them back because it's a bit quiet.

I can't be bothered going through past threads but I know for a fact you have said previously that you would rather play on a nearly empty but 'honest' server than a busy one full of cheats and toddlers. What happened to that?

Besides, the people who have been banned, the people who have left in a huff because their source of gear has gone - does anyone really care? it's not like they ever added anything at all to the server and/or community beyond being +1 on the UC. Fuck 'em, most of them did more to hurt the server population than anything else.

Fix the stat gains, add a few levels, the UC will pick up again and the banned people will be back on new characters - it's not like they haven't been already.

Its because of the cheats that so many folk left and we are now in this situation.

I go through phases of being dis-illusioned because my gear doesn't stack up to what the cheats have, and never will, and I leave for months. Then I come back (the bug bites), then I leave again because I am dis-illusioned (rinse & repeat etc). There cannot be one single legitimate player who is in any way happy to see these people in game.

Get rid of them for good and re-build the game, no matter how long it takes.

You are correct 3D I did say I would rather play on a empty server but honest server than with a server with cheats on it, but since I haven’t logged on in awhile and with what I hear I just thought I’d throw it out there.

Tov is currently at an all time low, and we all know it’s the only viable way to acquire valour scrolls for the ultimate end game weapons.

Guess I’m just playing devils advocate here, we all know what’s broken, I’m just trying to help in some way if I can for those that are still taking there soma journeys.

i think what the game needs is a complete overhaul and rebalancing and a maybe a 2nd server opened instead of a reset leave the current server alive as a eternal server and maybe satart a new one every 3-6 months kinda like seasons on diablo each server tweek things

also ive had an idea of a monster mechanic that could make tanks happy and that is make a boss lock onto a target and if that target dies it 1 hits everyone idk was thinking of a way to give tanks some use

I bang this drum in most threads but ultimately the whole game revolves around gear, so I'll keep banging it.

The current method of acquiring gear is stupid. Beyond stupid. It was lazy, awful design and encouraged the bot use in the first place. I completely understand the original reasoning behind valour but I'm not sure it could have been implemented worse without serious effort. The game being empty shouldn't make it impossible for me to get new weapons, a la ToV. Even now after drops were "looked at" the stuff players want doesn't drop from regular mobs. It's kind of bewildering, there's no logic to it, there's no design reasoning behind it. It's just some dumb thing they've decided needs to be in soma, regardless of how much it's hurt the server.

People can't be arsed grinding for so long to get nowhere, the idea that adding more grind (250 crafting) would do anything to fix that is honestly hilarious. I don't know who fin and dan listen to when it comes to where they take soma but it's painfully obvious none of them have a fucking clue about game design and it's soma that suffered.

It should be easy to run a soma server - like really easy. You have fastish rates that are boosted at lower levels as the cap increases, you add levels and mobs (reskinned mobs take very little effort) every few months, you add new maps every year or whatever. Mobs drop relevant gear and upgrades, it's simple. We could be on 300 level cap by now with what was essentially the base soma game and there would be way more players. All this nonsense that has been added is pointless and took so much effort, is soma better for it? Of course not.

The UC is low because the game is a complete mess and everyone but the cheats gave up ages ago. Taking out the cheats killed the UC because it was mainly them and their friends playing. I'd much rather the mess was addressed rather than just let the cheats back.

Ravensoul you really are dumb un ban cheats then if they do it again ban then un ban because there is NO user count. The reason why there is no unser count is because everyone left after key logging haha who still played a few cheating North Koreans ahhh haha.

Why should chests be allowed to cheat for months and keep all the stuff?

as it stands theirs no trading , not a single tov gone to 20 for ever in human world.

something has to be done valour weps should drop somewhere at low % otherwise its fucked were all aiming for a valour wep ( least half of us i guess) and its takin me 3 weeks to get 200 scrolls.... rewind time 3 months it would of took me 1-2 days for that.

right now the game revolves on needing other people to progress to get valour instead of being a singles journey....

you need people and have to rely on them instead of being able to venture out on ur own and work towards gettin champs/valour weps ect

you used to be able to login go mags get your stingers titus and tabs your endgame gear back in the day you didnt need to rely on anybody else.

nowadays empty server we shouldn't be relying on others to login and dictate our progress with what little time some of the community have to login with daily.

for the people who only want and need valour weps champs/corrupted its pointless almost logging in at all, scroll drops lucky to get 2-3 scrolls in 6 hours

nobody goes horde mode , if they do its like 5 people you get what 15-25 scrolls then after no one goes it would take me 20 days to get epic valour wep to probaby just break it on +3.....

PARGUED reason theirs no usercount is because select 20 triad said they dont cheat , if they didnt they wouldnt of been able to of been keylogged its super simple. then their friends quit due to them all being done in...

remember the GMS never listened to the accusations of the cheating and it got dealt with on another level, not best action but it beats bunch of cheating fucks running the place killing pve players being bunch of knobs

fyi dont call raven dumb atleast hes tryin to better the server in someway and not acting like a dumb ass like you, how half the server cant understand if they never had cheats in the first place nobody would of had accsess to any of their shit and it wouldnt of happened lol.....

KGBPLAYER / SEO admitted he made cheats he was a programmer and was close to perfecting his so called ART as he likes to call it. aka hes farming bots and pvp bots he gave it to the entire korean triads , bunch of dodgy people its called karma, the screenie exsists too bad its in korean
