Whilst the server is down I thought that I'd look to see if there are any folks out here with good knowledge on laptop computers and the process of downgrading from windows 8.1 to windows 7.
So far I've had one hell of a journey getting to the point that I have (managed to get windows 7 booted up and installed etc and then had to download individual drivers for a lot of shit that was missing due to fall out between W8 and W7) but I need more help/assistance - particularly around the wireless network adapter drivers. In a nutshell the problem I'm having is that I had to download an ASUS 802.11n Network Adapter driver just to get my wireless working... and now it's not picking up signal unless the laptop is basically right next to the router. The router works fine - it's brand new virgin media and I pick up the signal 5 houses down on my iphone. I guess the question I'm seeking an answer to is whether since the windows 8.1 driver won't work any more and I had to install a shitty Asus driver temporarily, can anyone find me a proper adapter for the following: PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&SUBSYS_2230103C&REV_01 PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&SUBSYS_2230103C PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&CC_028000 PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&CC_0280 Oh my laptop is an HP by the way - and yes I've used their site to look for adapters but none appear compatible.
