Do healing rings work?

RAVENSOUL	YOSHIMIKA Healing touch heals someone you target with an attack but not a healing spell. Is this intended, a bug or am i missing something? I cant think of any other use than zombie/hitting someone without them getting rid of zombie, unless i'm missing another way you would use this item it's almost useless?
