Hi folks. There may well be a simple answer to this, but I'm an old man in real life so please be gentle lolol. The other day, I logged on to play, and strangely there was no sound at the logging in screen, nor ingame. My speakers are working, and the sound on my pc works normally outside of the game. I have tried re-installing, and noticed, quite by accident, that the sound DOES work in windowed mode ! If it's relevant, I am using a pc with Windows 10. Thanks for reading this far, I'd appreciate any help :)

I used to have the same problem. I’d love the original sound to play, not these revamped versions which were made.
Following this for sure. |

I found sometimes sound does not work for me.
I just tickle the volume controls in game and it comes on. |

Okay this is something to try, you should be able to follow it hopefully.
I use Windows 10 64 bit. I use a fairly big monitor so I adjust my screen resolution. I use windows mode as it is more stable and everything is faster in my opinion. On your desktop right click the screen and look at your display settings (the size, for instance 1920 x 1080 or whatever). Now go into your Soma folder and just under the Soma Icon launcher is a Soma launcher Notepad. Open that and there are 4 places to adjust your screen size to just under your display setting size. This will run the game just under your full screen size but in Windows mode still. The settings in which the game opens are displayed twice, under resolution and game resolution. Both, so 4 lines of numbers need changing to just under your screen resolution size. If you start to d/c then just adjust the size a little when you do the above. Hope this helps. You don't have to play in a tiny windowed mode to have sound, just do the above. All the best.

He does hear sounds in windowed mode. I'm guessing he doesn't want to stay in windowed mode normal as it is a small screen. Just maximising his screen size but staying in windowed mode should have an almost full game play but keep the sound. Reading back you should see that personally I find windows mode also runs the game faster.
Stay in windows mode but almost a full screen. I'm guessing he doesn't want to use windows mode as it is a small screen is the thing, so I offered a solution, to stay in windows mode and use an almost full screen whilst doing it.

@Luixa thank you very much, this does actually work for me . I followed your instructions and used a random setting to test it. I will fiddle with the settings to see what works best for me :) I do indeed have sound in windowed mode, and you are correct that I prefer not to have too small a screen with my rubbish eyesight lol.
