CHIEFTAIN |
First of all, I would like to thank the GM for keeping Myth of Soma alive and allowing us to continue playing.
I think it will take some time to fully understand this update through actual gameplay. Since the optimal hunting and progression routes are likely to change significantly, I plan to pause leveling my character for a while until I have a better understanding of the new system. My biggest concern is faction balance. In the past, there were two factions of roughly equal strength. However, now only one side remains, controlling the main hunting areas 24/7. As a result, natural players and members of the smaller side have no realistic way to progress without using Immunity Potions, and I believe this situation will continue unless something changes. I was also constantly chased across the map and attacked, to the point where leaving town without an Immunity Potion was simply impossible. I've also heard from several players who wanted to return to the game but ultimately decided against it because they felt they wouldn't be able to hunt or make any meaningful progress. Anyway, this is just my personal opinion. Thanks.

"WEDDINGCAKE"Few hours after launch you’re already coming up with this?? My understanding of the new patch is that while wraiths might give you some benefit in terms of stat gain, they would be far from optimal at say 230 int. I'm not really versed on the in game factions of pvp, but hunting mobs relative to the stat you are trying to gain seems to be the name of the game.

Do u get more stat points per level depending on what you hunt now or is it still just percent based?

"AIRWAVES"Do u get more stat points per level depending on what you hunt now or is it still just percent based? since the patch you need to see xp and stats as a seperate thing. Stat gains are dependant on mob stats and XP gains are based on, I assume, mob xp and mob lvl. So yes, stat gains are based on what you hunt. Regardless of the xp gains.

Hunting mobs that have higher stats than you will be the fastest way as there's still a stat gain bonus. However there are many mobs you can kill quickly and with not much effort that will give you fast stats too.
It will take a few weeks with the soma community to figure out, just have fun and see
