"SQUEEZIE"I dont know. Let's take Shanis as an example. When would the speed from killing shanis outweigh the extra stat gains from vafers? To go further into this we need the help of some number crunchers and proper experimenters. We have little to no data. Untill then, I just assume every does what they feel is best. Or what they've been told.

f you kill Shanis faster and gain stats quicker because of the speed, but you get less stats per EXP, that still doesn’t answer the actual question: what is the reward for doing the harder‑tier mob if exp dont even matter since you can still gain stats after cap level now?

If the only difference is “Shanis are faster” and “Vafers give slightly more per stats,” then the system isn’t rewarding difficulty — it’s just giving two different flavours of the same outcome. That’s the whole point: if the harder mob doesn’t give a meaningfully better end result, then the incentive to move up a tier disappears.

So yeah, you can say “we need number‑crunchers,” but the logic is already clear:
If the harder mob doesn’t produce a better final build, then calling it a “reward” doesn’t make

Since this topic has been running some changes have been made and the ratios have been tweaked for the better.

Turns out everyone was right in going for kills/per second. Now a better balance should've been struck.

It's too much to explain but feel free to read up discord messages. Finito has been busy yesterday.

As always I'm going to assume the patch notes will be posted here within a few days.

The game master Finito, and previously Dan, have said many times that all updates and changes should be posted on the forum. There has never been any official notice telling players they need to follow Discord discussions to stay informed. Even if there had been, a large portion of us wouldn't see those discussions anyway because we've been banned from the Discord. These aren't just account bans either, they're IP bans, so participating there isn't even an option.

That's the contradiction. On one hand, we're told updates belong on the forum, but on the other, changes are being discussed and made through Discord conversations that part of the playerbase is completely excluded from. It's unprofessional, and it's one of the main reasons there's so much distrust and paranoia about certain players and how decisions are made. I wouldn't call that healthy management by any stretch.

On top of that, the way bans and changes have been handled has only shrunk the community further. When one side is repeatedly banned, both in-game and on Discord, while others are able to influence updates behind closed doors, you don't have a functioning community anymore. You have a filtered one.

Then you've got people using bots, VPNs, and throwaway accounts, making the community appear larger than it really is while masking the fact that the playerbase has been declining through cumulative bad management. That's not growth, it's camouflage.

None of this is happening in isolation either. The cumulative effect of poor management is exactly why players aren't returning. People don't come back to a game where updates aren't communicated consistently, discussions happen behind closed doors, and a significant part of the community is excluded from taking part.

But thanks for the insight into Finito's schedule. You're basically acting as his little secretary at this point.

I'm going to let my Dutch directness speak here and keep it simple and short. I assume by now from my posts it's not meant as rude or aggressive.

This game is not a profressional game. It's free without a store or any form of donation. Finito does this purely because he wants to keep the game running. I he has no ties to anyone. He doesn't care about one party. He cares about the game.

Discord is the quickest and most direct way to provide feedback and finito can respond to it and work with it directly. This makes the development and bug fixing so much easier and simpler. For the setup that this game has, with the small community it has, Discord is the perfect tool. It's also free and there's no restriction from joining. Even if you're banned a new account can be made easily.

From what I've seen on Discord recently is the whole community together to work on the same thing. It was refreshing actually to see the community in such spirits.

I'm not going to comment on the ban stuff. I can't be bothered with that mess.

The donation store was actually removed because of chargebacks from your side, specifically Warlix, which ended up ruining it for everyone.

I do agree that Finito doesn't have a side, and I believe he genuinely wants to keep the game running. My issue has never been about his intentions. It's about how certain decisions are made and communicated, because whether it's intended or not, they create the perception that some players have more influence than others. That's where a lot of the distrust comes from.

You've mentioned Discord again, but I've already explained my position on that. Repeating the argument doesn't change the fact that the official channel for discussing and announcing game changes isn't being properly utilised. The forum has always been presented as the official place for updates, yet discussions that influence changes end up happening elsewhere.

You also mentioned making a new Discord account, but I've already explained why that isn't a realistic answer. Many of us aren't simply account banned, we're IP banned, and that applies to a large part of this side of the alliance. Telling people to make another account doesn't solve the issue, it just avoids it.

You also said you can't be bothered with the banning situation, but that's part of the wider problem I'm talking about. Rules and expectations seem to change depending on what's convenient. We were told updates and discussions belong on the forum, yet Discord has become the place where feedback influences changes because it's quicker and better suits Finito's schedule. I understand why Discord is easier for him, but convenience doesn't change the fact that it leaves part of the community excluded. Being a free game doesn't change that either. He's clearly putting time into the game because he wants people to play it and enjoy his work.

I was also told this server once had around 1,000 players. Whether that number is accurate or not, it's worth asking whether relying on feedback from only part of the community has contributed to the decline. When the biggest alliance in Soma history already has the numbers to reinforce its own views, and other opinions are excluded or dismissed, it becomes much easier for one perspective to shape the direction of the game.

And when you say the community was working together on Discord, which community do you mean? The people who still have access? The people using VPNs, bots or multiple accounts? It happens on Discord as well, then it raises another concern. When the same individuals are able to reinforce the same ideas across multiple accounts, it can create the impression that there's much broader support for a particular view than there actually is. That makes it much easier for the same opinions to dominate discussions while opposing viewpoints become diluted or dismissed. If a significant number of players can't even take part in those discussions in the first place, it's difficult to describe it as the whole community working together. It starts to look more like an echo chamber than a genuine reflection of what the wider community thinks.

I've given my opinion on a lot of these things. And I'm fine with how they've been said.

Working together in this case is facing the same direction. All big 'sides' are represented on Discord.

Players do not have enough influence to Finito to change actual game mechanics. Maybe some slight number changes or spawn increases, drop adjustments etc.

I'm not currently member of staff, I'm just a player as I want to be. I love you guys, but never again, plz god no. I hate you all at the same time.

Kind regards,
Ghostlord

Who was representing groups such as the Koreans, Revenants, Gangsters, and other guilds when these discussions took place?

From what I have personally seen, and from conversations I’ve had with players such as Tongskie from Vikings, Phil, Nikos from No Mercy, and many of our own members, there appears to be a shared view that the Game Master’s communication and decision-making can come across as one-sided at times.

Whether people agree with that perception or not, it is a view held by a number of players across different groups. Many of the guilds affected by these discussions were either inactive, underrepresented, or not represented at all, which raises questions about how broad the range of perspectives actually was during those conversations.

I also disagree with the idea that players cannot significantly influence outcomes. A single player may not have much influence, but coordinated groups can. Large alliances, multiple accounts, forum activity, Discord discussions, and the ability to shape narratives all affect how information is presented and perceived by both players and staff.

I have raised these concerns before, just as others have repeatedly presented their own views. We may disagree on the extent of that influence, but I do not think it can simply be dismissed.

No offence intended, but who likes or dislikes whom is not really relevant to the points I’m making. My concern is with the broader community dynamics and whether different perspectives were genuinely represented in these discussions.
