At 67 dex (with bow) you need to kill (for 0.1 dex)
(Halve the numbers if on rested XP) 88 Moss Bears 88 Pan Bears (they are the same) 96 Devil Fish 100 Leiver Beasts 120 Palus 140 Warban 180 Valks 185 Warmess 240 Devil Warriors 248 Desert Scorpions 270 Forest Trolls 338 Sandcrawlers 580 Frost Trolls or 185 Wraiths This is due to the Dex slow on mobs at 65. The slow on "int" mobs is less than "str" mobs so the wraiths are dis-proportionate. 8) Jac

"JACKELPUP""BRAINDATA"What Str are these based on tho jac?... "JARAGOONDOO"All your melee gains are relative to your STR and the STR of the mob you are hunting. Stat slowdowns are at -50, -30, -10 and +10 of a mob's STR. So who's correct?

Strength is not relevant.
There is a potential dex slow every 5.0.
During the calculation process, some additional strength was obtained (axe) to enable higher mobs to be hunted (after discovering some gave me a pasting). The increase in strength (total increase over 10.0) never affected the number of kills per 0.1 dex.
The information has been collated primarily from empirical data (some simultaneous equations thereafter) and extrapolation.

So if you're hunting BLG (140? STR) and you have 110+ str and only 70 or so DEX you'll gain dex slowly as you're already passed the 2nd slow down. On the other hand if you're on 100 STR and 100 DEX, you ll gain dex faster because you haven't reached the next slowdown yet. It doesn't matter what your DEX is; all melee gains are based on STR.[/quote]
So who's correct?

There are 2 types of slowdowns. "Stat" slowdowns (eg 65 and 95 are big slowdowns for all stats) and mob slowdowns (what I described in my post).
Saying STR is irrelevant is wrong. I've spent a lot of time monitoring my gains and the STR of the mob I'm hunting on both DSoma and HSoma, not to mention FINITO himself has confirmed what I have said in some thread on the forum.

Might be at cross purposes...
In Jara's example your "hit rate" would be much higher and you would kill the mobs faster. Additionally. it may be the STR of a mob that determines how many of them you have to kill (in the lists I provided the number of kills per mob are all different - that may indeed be based on their STR). However, the number of kills per 0,1 dex remains constant every 5.0 dex regardless of your str, int, con, or charisma - that is based on empirical data on each mob (simultaneous equations where mobs are mixed, like the trolls) and extrapolation for other mobs at the same slow. Why not try it yourself and see ? Remember though, the list is for "bow" only and you need to halve the figures for rested XP (and don't kill anything else while counting). 8) Jac

Jara is correct.
Jac is half correct. Follow Jara's advice because that takes into account mob slow downs which is your true gains all in. Its like a gross vs net profit in business. Both right, just one is at the end after everything is calculated and the other is half way process.

I assume you are referring to XP gains Style ?
That being the case, the figures I have take no account of XP gains at all ..... 8) Jac |
