Max attack has a higher weighting than minimum attack when effected by weapon skill (I recall 200 weapon skill multiplies your max attack by approx. 2.14, I can't remember the scalar value for minimum attack). You also have to factor in defense of the target, which has a massive impact on actual DPS.

Of course I agree in real life. However in theory it doesn't matter as long as you take it the same for every weapon. It's still a good comparisson.

Yes, this is assuming there's 100% hit-rate.

Goes without saying that knuck and bow will have substantially higher hit-rate than any other class.
