What does protection actually do? MD or regular def? (I knew once, but don't remember.)
I'm wondering if it could actually serve some purpose at higher int and level 3 or level 4, but just that nobody's bothered to try because it seemed so ineffectual earlier. Has anyone actually checked? :p

Was 3 def on esoma I think, no idea if it's changed on here.

5 def as level 2, 8 def as level 3... was useful in esoma as soon as you used two-handed m-tag weapons
