Could Fin code it so Pk turns off when certain bosses spawn like Gorshak then turn on again after?

"ISYLVER"Easy enough to expand maps. Thats great news, trouble is tho with soma being soma. If I missed the release I wouldnt be starting to level a year and a half behind everyone else and they will think the same.

I think having rested up until lvl 50 is fine as it is. What WOULD be an incentive for players to start from lvl 1 is to have a rested system in which rates were very fast to begin with but would slow down progressively as lvls go by.
Say X10 till lvl 10 X8 till lvl 20 and so on untill the normal rested rates were reached. A regressive rested system.

There is a good 3000 hours to cap a human. It takes approximately 350hours to reach level 60. Both with no crafting. Level 80 wouldn't even be out of order in my opinion. There is no point hindering future players because it was harder prior to level prior rested. A large increase in rested can only serve to increase the server's popularity with players who have since left. In your 80s its harder to burn rested so the running out wont be that much of an issue.

Didn't realise it was so low ;o
Personally I'd doubt it could be done especially with the hours he did - for most part would've been out of rested. Personally I wouldn't even consider 2k possible with rested only either. There's easily 1000+ hours of rested only leveling in the 90s. General consensus among the capped humans I've spoken to quote 3k and some marginally over with some crafting done. Wrong char ... /Iphios

Instead of increasing rested, why not do what Isylver did last time and increase the rate at which monsters below BLG give exp; closing the gap even more.

Iph, probably weapon choice played a big part.
Knuckle + Staff, but in regards to fixing the issue (if it really is a barrier for people starting out) would be what Yoshi is suggesting. |

It sounds like in an ideal world you would want free rested till 100...
The rested system is one which has created a psychological problem, namely, chars won't lvl without rested as the alternative (no rested) is one which isn't appealing, particularly in latter lvls. Had we not had the rested system this problem wouldn't exist and we wouldn't know any different. IF the aim is to keep players playing, then, perhaps an increase in the speed in which rested is gained is the solution (or even, make rested regain much quicker when say logged in in town as opposed to logging out) If the aim is to attract new character creation and participation, then the solution would surely be to increase the rates or increase the rested rates so that catching up isn't as so daunting. Where the test server scored was that the aim of the game wasn't so much in capping stats, it was instead about having the best items, having the most pos, being the best at pvp, and having fun farming and socialising. Whereas at the moment the emphasis seems to be on PVE and hunting, which for some is enjoyable, but for the majority can get a bit tiresome. I also think PK is an area of the game that not only provides loads of fun but also acts as an incentive for a player to hunt and become strong enough to compete. So this needs to be on a lot more. #democracy

"ADVOCATE"It sounds like in an ideal world you would want free rested till 100... In an ideal world I'd like level 80 as per previous post ;o Lvl 80 cant be much more than 60% of a characters hours to cap total. Also I wouldn't really say its psychological as it is practical. If you can only devote 4 hours to a game then why wouldn't you maximise that at the point where by it takes longer in terms of real hours played to level. There comes a point where levelling rested only is faster than normal leveling even with rested included. But there also comes an equilibrium point where by your hours played wont eat into your rested gains for that day. Your thoughts on PvP I agree with completely. Iphios - all be him a disgusting little multi - didn't level in rested until level 80 odd due to the hours we could put in combined. What kept us off rested was the competition within PvP and the fact for the most part throughout the early game we were easily within top percentile of chars. GMs made positive steps in terms of raising exp rates, revising rested system and adding more rested free levels. Which has seen spikes in new players/rerollers from dsoma however I just think a review could only increase users further.

Don't think raising the level you get free rested is the answer, the higher level u get the worst it feels when you play without rested which personally think is a big kick in the head specially if it's a new player to soma.
