"IMCON"To be fair, I don't think Zyar was wrong to point out concerns. He just could have done it in a more charitable way. It came across as lacking empathy, which is why you're now all calling him names. I thought it came across as pretty miserable too, though I didn't say so because I didn't want to bring more negativity into the thread. pointing out concerns is a good thing in a way, but the way he did it was the dumbest way to do it, looks like he actually wants hate or flame coming towards him by posting shit just ignore him mich!!!

It's pragmatic and fair enough to ask questions, as long as you bear in mind how it would come across to people if it turns out to be a genuine appeal. As always, there is a right way and a wrong way to say something.
Ask questions, but ask kindly and assume good intent and all is well :) There's no need for everyone to be mean and call Zyar names. Kindness breeds kindness.[/quote]

To add a bit of balance here. There a few points.
The chair costs between 500 and 2,500£ .So u buy the 500£ one .. Rich said he had 475£ before even asking here. If the majority of the money was already raised, then why ask here too? Great that generous kind ppl have donated and respect for that to all. Still dont see that if money is a hardship.. ie family on benefits or something, that the state wouldnt help in some way. Anyway. Maisy got cash for her chair now. Good luck to her and all that contributed. Let's hope a happy end for everyone. Well done to all. Should let this thread rest now imo.

To add to ACVX (well, address his issue of funding);
I had been away and came back after the furore and after the target was reached. I messaged Rich as I would have liked to have been a part of the help and his response was that although the "target" is reached there is a lot more equipment needed and every penny helps. Some of us will have disabled family members and be very empathetic, others may be more fortunate but still have sympathy. It takes either an accomplished scam artist or a strong, passionate man with courage to ask for help from friends and family when they are unable to provide themselves - and Rich is not a scam artist. Does it matter?
£10 is like what? A days lunch? If there's a 5% chance a kid is helped and a 95% chance some tramp gets a new quad bike I'll take those odds. Everyone is smart enough to make their own decisions. Donate or don't - doesn't need a running advisatory commentary to help you decide.

(family, friends, bank loans ) that's assuming no govt help would be available . get fukkin real tbh ( wakey wakey ffs )

If one of my family needed £500 for a chair I'm in a fortunate enough position to buy them several with it having no impact on my life. However not everyone is. Hence the reason charity and these websites exist.
If richmich pockets the cash then yeah he's a scumbag. If it goes to the right place then super - I'm glad I could've helped with little price to myself. My point is everyone has the ability to read what is in front of them and doesn't need a running commentary advising to beware. You either donate or you don't. You ignore or you don't. You make an educated decision and part with what you are willing to part with or you don't.
