"PENETRATION"Is it always a 100% best to go with a mob tht has higher str? There are 2 exceptions: Demented Warthogs and Crimson Apai. These mobs don't give any bonus (you'll waste time and possibly gimp your stats if you go to them too early).

Apai and Hogs give stats in the -10 to +10 range, so WBM are give same stats as them at 175+ str. WBM become worse at 195 str (that's when you move onto Hogs).

Got to lvl 19 mage first time on d soma don't know about armour and weapons I always seem to be way behind on items to my level, and not found any mage related quests either but mage is fun on d soma
