A reason to fight GVW from the start

For me and probably a lot of others GVW is one of the best parts of soma

Turnouts have been great for past 2 weeks but there is still the issue of 90% of people only turning up for literally the last 5 minutes because any time before that isn't logical

It would be great if there could be a reason to fight from start - an easy solution I guess is having something similar to Pos gains on stone though I appreciate thats an RvR thing

A reason to fight from the start would make the war an hour long rather than basically 5 minutes and if the stone needed to be defended from the start then I can imagine it being much more tactical in terms of when to pot up etc

Of course the other main issue is it being so expensive ..

Few things that could be done;

1.
Make it so that the winner is the guild who held the stone for the longest time. Kind of changes the GVW totally and alot of people will probably disagree because its good that anyone can win it as it stands. But it would make for an epic war

2.
Keep it the same as it is but somehow reward guilds by how long they are inside the GV hut... Could buff stats for every 10 minutes you're inside the hut or something. Buffed stats = better chance of winning

3.Bosses.... Either spawn more bosses based on Kills at GVW or by damage dealt or total amount of man hours spent inside the GV zone

4.
10x Rested EXP while you're in the GVW area so people arent so worried about 'wasting' time training when it would actually be beneficial to spend the whole hour at GVW and gain a decent amount of rested.

5.
Free potions for GVW! lol alot of people are tight....Could introduce an NPC that you can only use when the GVW is on that gives you free MP/HP potions but would somehow have to make them disappear after GVW ended or make it so you cant trade/drop/put in WH can only sell at NPC for 0

just spit balling here gays

I personally enjoyed the last 5 minutes of GVW last night just wish it lasted longer... Could say the same about some other things in my life

Making it like SS with a counter would be fantastic, and base the winners on the duration stone is held.

If this is possible it would be amazing - perhaps the counter could also speed up towards the end/give a bonus to whoever ends on the stone?

what would be good is if they had a system like sacred stone so you gain points every second your guild on stone and the guild with most points win but it will have to be instant revive on stone for this to work proply

i think cost is why people dont go gvw.

PvP potions for GVW, WOTW and SS. cheaper than normal potion and can only be used at these places.

I like the idea of a counter. However, have to think how it will work with the current holders.

I like the idea of having it scale. For example;
0-15 mins: 1 point every 10 seconds
Last 15 mins 1 point every second.

This way it will force people to turn up from minute 1 to break wall and ensure the holder advantage is reduced as much as possible.

Keep it as it is. Free for all is the best way, anyone can win. If its on a counter, it will be the same guild winning all the time. I know some people wont go for a full hour, just for trace and to waste pots. I think last 5-10mins of gvw is intense and a challenge. A counter is the wrong way to go.

Could always split the gvw into 3 20 minute rounds. Or 6 10 minute rounds. Whoever wins most rounds gets it. On a tie/draw can either let owners keep it or make the last round be a tie breaker

Thought this idea terrible at first but there could be something in it..

Not 10 mins but if war ended randomly between 30 mins and an hour people would be there for sure 20 minutes in?

apparently u talking about hsoma gvws since i got abit experience from them i watched plenty of me even from vids or from ingame since the changes gms made its more of zergfest now than strategy and planning.

No1 can hold stone more than 2mins nowdays soo most ppl prefer go last 15-10mins cause these are the ones that matter most and pray one of them is on stone dead or alive to win.

U could give some kind of a penalty to long time winners like how WotW % is

10 mins would be too short, I was just making an extreme example :)

It would make it more strategic, but it needs a specific pot vendor who supplies only +50s free that can only be used at gvw (HP and MP). WoTW could use something like this too. (I nicked Ravers idea there with the pot thing, but pots are too expensive to waste at wars, and that's the bottom line)
