from a pvp point of view this could be interesting change ... would make pure dex chars need get some int also
atm a pure dex char can easy pwn a mage even thow he has 80ish int ... but make it an aura which only last x seconds and then you have to wait like 1 minute to be able to use it again

Mages dont need anymore auras, they have 2nd aura which is 5% eva, thats enough tbh... If this aura is added it makes 2nd pointless. There is alot more mages ingame in pvp than melee chars. Off the top of my head, the people who get involved with pvp, the melee chars are slither, me, tolic, elric, willow, bradley_cole, rare, lafite rest who pvp are mages. Zyzz, lordcoos, fujitora, kazuo ,nite, pikutin, acaelus, style, ceo, basically all of DL. so dont know how u can say mages need 100% eva for pvp for a few seconds...

ill agree with u here hurri I said the same to nite...dex chars worked hard so they can hit people loads and took the hit on not having no int so why shud the dex char not be able to hit a inter when the dexer has worked a lot hard for them gains[/quote]

I've argued this point a few times.
Mages' damage is high and rightly so, the advantages melee characters have outweigh the advantages mages have by a mile. I've seen people argue mages have weaken, this is easily removed by simply using a serum. Mages have second aura (5% eva) which is barely useful after a mage had used the majority of their exp getting their int high. Spells can be pre casted, this requires mages to run away from a fight for at least 5 seconds and run back. If it's a 1v1 it's near impossible to get a pre cast done. If a pre cast spell is done, a serum can be used... again. Mages can make evasion gear, this doesn't counteract the accuracy gear of a melee character with 20 more dex. Mages can make dex accessories, this is to get on par with the high dex characters, this consequently prevents mages from using their +ma access while melee characters can use their new +attack gear. Melee characters have been upgrading their bows to redicilous speeds for months now, dealing probably 2x the amount of damage to a mage than a mage would do to a melee character (providing they can cast). A 4th aura preventing spells from being interupered for 10 seconds with a cool down of 90 seconds is the first of the changes needed to be done to balance out mages and melee characters.

Absolutely not.
One of the main tactics trying to defend the gv, whether it be a premade wall or the stone itself, is to interupt the mages, imagine the damage when they all free cast at the same time ;( I would understand if there wasn't a lot of mages on hsoma and it was dominated by bow users, but it's not its more the other way around.

I would like to see the dodge increased to 10% on 2nd aura.
Don't feel a new one has any benefit, and I think melee vs int is pretty finely balanced at the moment. But let's face it, more important things for Finito to work on than a new staff aura. |

So nothing is taken away from a dex char, you still hit Also brings in more tactics as 3rd and 4th axe aura stop auras + there's a unused white spell that removes auras that would become a bit more usfull Still, I do also think another weapon set for melee chars is needed for hsoma

No. Get 166 int and go pure bow and put dex access and evasion set on, sit back and laugh at 95% of the Soma population miss you. Or do what Nite did, get 166 ish int, then do axe so when you get hit you get hurt less, but then cant cast to save your life. The balance is perfect at the minute, don't change something that isn't broken.

A mage char is gonna shit on a high dex and str char when its group pvp, which it nearly always is.
People expect to be able to 1v1 any character in the game and it just doesn't work that way. |
