Zao / Mrwolf acting big at the start, and when they started dropping, they just went naked and die don purpose, then when numbers back in their favour they started trying again...
Maybe increase the penalty cap? After 10% you lose 5% a death ect.... If you want you acn always warp... Just stop people dying on purpose lol[/quote]

What about giving res scrolls a cool down like sr. 1 a soma day? Then you have a decision to keep fighting at risk if you die, or warp.
The penalty xp is fine, but something needs changing once 10% is hit. Forced warp wouldn't work as they would just keep tracing back in. The ideal scenario would be stat loss but would need to ensure this cannot be abused thru griefing stats. Let's face it if you hit 10% penalty u are dying on purpose, so stat loss wouldn't affect serious players. Another option would be after 10% you generate a different type of penalty xp. Which works in exactly the same way as rested xp. I.e I die at 10% penalty xp and go to 12.5%. The only way to get this 2.5% back is to generate it in town afk or logged off. It could even scale more I.e 5% per death. If after 10% the characters attack mode and pk mode could be disabled that would make it useful as they could not rejoin the fight.

The latter of this is a quality idea, once you hit over 10% it goes to another kind of penalty exp that you have to afk in town or log off for before you can come out of peace mode. Would stop people from doing it to lose moral/slow/weaken/cure players who are grey or pking. To solve the problem you need to address both res scrolls and people dying on purpose to let others lose moral while still bring able to play a large part in a pvp battle

PvP in Soma has always been about ego, especially when res scrolls have been so cheap since Esoma ;p. Throw away chars have been used since sept/october to cure/weaken/slow/blind in pk fights, why is it a big deal now :)? Like I said earlier make it so you go grey if you cure some who's grey.
If you kill a player move on to the next target, wasn't everyone in firetrap/nm wanting Coos banned for griefing m1s because of 10 pks :)? + -10% is a lot of exp to get if your high lvl ^^

This is true and thats why this thread has been on going since September, because it needs changing. I wasn't, I said the total opposite that he was perfectly within his rights to do what he did so don't tar everyone with the same brush. It is if you're a high level, but if you don't level anymore and the character isn't ever played apart from pvp what is the point in an exp penalty ... ? It doesn't do anything ...

"YOSHIMITSU" Characters being used that dont even play anymore, not even by the original owner, can be used for the purpose listed above. They can die 5000 times and come back to have only 10% penalty. No reason not to increase the penalty, you can either have ress scrolls or you can warp. But these characters will come back and regain the 10% doing int in at most a couple hours. Remove the cap would stop this from happening. Although it would not stop characters that are completely throwaway, it would probably prevent a leveled character from doing it if he knew if he kept dying he would end up at like -583495% penalty exp.

Do not compare zao and wolf to m1s or throwaway chars. Maybe they were referred to as throwaway chars but this is a completely different context.
Maybe FT were calling for coos to be banned, it was justified. We don't want anyone banned here. We want an improvement to the system. M1s stood there in peace and got griefed. Zao and wolf were there naked constant reviving weakening ppl for Quimm to bash and both swording Ppl to interrupt. U cannot ignore them.

"JULIO""YOSHIMITSU" This wouldn't work though, give them a 2312321908149174917498172% penalty exp, they still have ALL of their stats still in tact (Minus abit of weapon skill here and there) so there is still literally no reason for them to not hit that revive button again, again and again. If you force warp it at least makes them waste time going to town if they're already at 10% penalty. Or a better way would do Cyrox's idea, give you an additional penalty that you can only get rid of from being stood in town or logging off in town that doesn't allow you to come out of peace mode. Allow this to have no cap on it, that would stop everything.

force warp for all PvP/RvR deaths with no item drops (barr and a small amount of pos only)
stops all harassment, if they follow you from spawn to spawn after killing you then a bann needs to be issued, if you return to your original death area and they killed you again its fair

Zzzzzzzzz
If you read up, we do mention Skieblue as well. 3rd death Auto warp would have no affect in this scenario because it would take them 3 seconds to trace back and do it all over again. Unless after the 3rd death you shut down tp/trace for a period of time. PK is getting somewhat respectable and fun again, and this is really the only blemish I can see with it. Another solution, would be after so many deaths in a short space of time, you no longer cause players attacking you to lose morale.

Or have a separate penalty that can only be expended while in town and not allowing them to leave peace mode until the penalty exp has expired ;o
