Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, not Great Britain.

Great Britain is the larger of the two islands, Great Britain and Ireland.

Yea, the North is part of the UK but not Britain.

For example, the Norths postcode's all start with BT for the area code, which stands for British Territory.

British passport or British nationality is more of a UK passport and used to be GB+Ireland, now northern Ireland only.

We are Britain and Ireland's illegitimate bastard child, never mind we are sort of just out a 30 year semi-civil war.

Its either way, being born in Northern Ireland you are duel nationality, British and Irish, just whatever you chose, or both. My cousin is from the north also and she represents Ireland at Olympic level but carries a British passport, she says its also easier to get into and the pay is far better.

Though it all depends, there is no northern Ireland rugby team, so by default the north supports the south. With football, the Northern Ireland national football team is run by the IFA (Irish football association) which was based in the north when the country split and the name stayed, so the republic made their own new one called the Football Association of Ireland.
