Spoke to iSylver ingame and he asked if I would make a post on the fourms about it, so here goes.
I think DSoma cooking craft is set out wrong (bare with me please)... Currently Meat is sold by the npc for 15 apc, and the 2 recipes that are used to skill on are Beef Jerky (3 Meat) and Meat Piles (4 Meat). So that is a outlay of 45 barr per Beef Jerky attempted and 60 barr per Meat Pile. This doesnt seem too bad so far until you go to sell your newly crafted items and find out that Beef Jerky only sells for 58 barr apc and Meat Pile sells for 70 barr apc. Now you can see that it is impossible to make any sort of profit on Beef Jerky and Meat Piles. Im sure Ive also read somewhere that there is a cap on crafting set at 75% success rate. Please no flaming etc, and i know it must have been this way for a long time. Just want to know peoples thoughts?

Seems a little harsh, I have only ever crafted on hsoma and that was weaps but I used it purely as a means to make money for hunting etc more so than anything else.
Sorry for my ignorance or lack of Dsoma craft knowledge but what is cooking used for? |

Its mainly for the upgrades, im pritty sure that it is Small Egg to Azazel's Pill and some other upgrades (sorry if ive got that wrong).
But like you mentioned, it is also normally used as a source of income (HSoma), im not sure if it has been designed this way or if it is just an oversight? Ghost/iSylver any comments?

"GHOSTLORD"As far as I remember cooking was a money sink on hsoma too. Thanks for replying! Just checked HSoma, its 10 barr apc for wolf meat (I honestly thought was less) and a meat pile still sells for 70 barr apc. Perhaps you are right though? Any other opinions? Knew i should have written this in the General Discussion lol

You can buy flour and beans from the shop aswell and use that for when restock is empty! Pritty sure that is a huge bar sink though!
Cooking is a fast skill though as dont have to have loads of different items holding more bagweight |
