Was wondering if increasing the attack bonus melee weapons get is something that could be looked into or discussed.

Current state of pvp for a str based character is get a fast bow and accuracy. think its something silly like 2/3 ppl of the entire server population try and use a weapon that is not bow. Obvious reasons for this is the other weapons are underpowered in open combat, Bow damage does not fall off you get to hit from the safety of range and with speed upgrades you hit just as fast as anyone else.

Just my opinion but i miss seeing ppl using a variety of weapons just makes me sad but cant blame people for using bow as its just head and shoulders above everything else is there no way with att changes or extra md/df when you equip a melee weap to nudge more ppl into other weaps?. (dsoma exempt).

The trouble would be balancing this for PVE.

You are right that endgame pvp is Axe bow staff. But knuckle and sword are well used for bosses and farming Finding a way to balance both would be hard.

Ye it would be hard as for pve they are fine im now going the full staff route myself but would be nice to see ppl who have stuck to spear etc be rewarded with something other than being the first targets in any kind of pvp.

I think the reason everyone goes bow at cap is because anyone that uses a range 1 meter wep will constantly get 5th axed/zombie'd and die. It's basically instant death nowadays. I don't think the issue is really down to attack, it's just survival.

This, with the amount of chars running around with 5th axe it's almost necessary to have a ranged source of damage for pvp purposes.

Would like to see more of the other weapons but it is what it is.

Ye thats pretty much my entire point there is no need to use them not only do you get fuked by 5th first you are essentially 5thing yourself by having to stand beside enemies with no added damage as its pretty much the same as bow dmg.

but if they were buffed to the point it was worth using them and you could run about 3 hitting ppl then there would maybe be more ppl using them.

only way to do this is same as dsoma and make it 1 class 1 wep int = staff bow = dex str/dex = knux and so on, however this would prob result in everyone making new char and going bow or staff with maybe a handful of other weps so making it the same.
How about making bow a pure dex char wep, maybe make from bof upwards 125 dex to use. It would make very few people want to train to use bow, maybe do the same for all weps pro rata so that you realy have to choose a path to use the wep and not be able to use any wep as long as you have skill and a bit of str/dex.

Dev soma is pretty restricted with the 1 class type of character as it is.
No need to bring that to human side. Be better to give a bit more freedom and choice to the dev side

Hsoma is fine. At gvw you see a nice mix.

Open world pvp is a diff mater. No one wants to die. Bringing in zombie changed the game dynamic masivly. If stone/zombie was nerfed against poeple holding range one weps you would see alot more variation again.

Apart from the usual pussies that like to stand at range 7 Tolic, Fujicane, Slith ect ect
