Ideas for new Mage spells

Hi guys,

I have been thinking about when the level cap is raised what might help assist in keeping devil mages fun and more well rounded. I have come up with 2 ideas for new spells which I think could help:

Siphon Life:

This spell does as the name suggests. it would be an uninterruptable (yes you heard me correctly, hear me out!) spell that does fairly low damage (cap the damage) but will take a players health and siphon it to the mage. This would be good in pvp to allow mages to strategically take a few more hits and try and heal themselves through it by casting low damage spell.

Flame Shield:

This would be a new aura which would create a flaming shield around you. every time you are hit by a melee attack you would do some spell damage back to the attacker, this could possibly make some lower level characters think twice before beating on the mage. it wouldn't need to be big damage but it would certainly help if it was enough damage to cause people to slowly use pots to counter it. This may stop the idea of every man and his dog attacking the mage as soon as he enters the room.

Anyway, just an idea guys, what do you all think? It seems to me that mages need a few tweaks moving forward, especially when the level cap is raised as high str users will demolish mages in 1-2 hits ... and likewise, mages will annihilate all with high int, if they can ever get a spell off!

Both ideas seem reasonable easy to make happen, and also sound fun.

But to be fair the whole game all classes need a refresh spicing up.

I agree, all classes will need some new items/spells/abilities etc when the level cap is raised. This is just my idea to help mages :p

I like the flame shield idea would be better implemented as mages 5th aura bringing them level with other classes. A red perfect defense animation would look great ;)
