Dsoma cap raise

Author Content Date
"TYPHIN"wow lupi ur lack of appreciation for dsoma is just amazing.

as much as you like hsoma and how it works its the same with devils.

devils had the cold shoulder for a long enough time while hsoma got preference.

That was to change once the needed issues were addressed and both were to move ahead together.

i for one dont think dsoma should get dumped on just cause of population ratio.

i'd actualy like dsoma to have its few remaining significant obstacles addressed appropriately cause i can appreciate the difference between it and hsoma and aside from the punching bs i'd play dsoma

I said i have no idea about dsoma ..but if u have a low/ ever decreasing population..and dsoma is holding back an upgrade for soma.. this was just an idea

Cyrox came up with a pretty simple/ understandable/ logical way of how to introduce cap+ for hsoma a few months ago...
It seems the ideas for dsoma need an Einstein brain to come close to understanding..and then if if u understand it.. as said earlier..its all comes down to what '' benefits you'' rather than an across the board fix that will suit all players..

yeh, so having no idea about it means that it's a less than smart idea to suggest that devs dump it altogether and advise those who play it to dry their eyes and just start playing hsoma.....

I said nothing like that .. and you kno it

To put it simply, in case you misunderstood.
Devs constantaly moaning bout stat gains/ stat fixes... never agreeing whats best or not... complaining it's dead.and saying they are leaving....
It's obviously some weird stats gaining exercise.. my point is...

Give the few remaining players a decent whack of stats .. in comparison with high end human players...
And give dsoma the same mechanics as hsoma.. half understandable and a logical way of levelling.
That way .. myself and quite a few human players woukd consider making dev characters. It's a ''niche'' game atm ..so far removed from ''soma''
So . no..i dont wana see GM's dump dsoma ..id like to see dsoma flourish ..but atm.. by the players admissions.. ''its dead'' ..players are leaving.... to put it blunt....dsoma is soma on acid.... just doesnt work for ur average joe...Make it playable...make it understandable and logical

Fair comment.. but ..soma progress is slowed/ on hold while gms try to think of a fix for dsoma.
As comments here show.. no easy fix, and certainly no fix that suits all devs ( all 6-12 of them)

GM's aint in this for the money..or selfish reasons. They sway to ''public opinion'' coz they good guys. They try do what the players want as much as they can.
If you want soma progress to be slowed while the GM's try to come up with a fix for a dozen dsoma players..that 80% of them will undoubtedly moan about..well ..pfft say no more.

to be fair, lupi has given some decent input. i prefer the way you lvl on dsoma to hsoma but thats just me, tried hsoma a few times and just cant get into it, so ill be dsoma until its done i think. its getting to the point i cba to lvl my alt as hunting grounds and general chat is "dead"

only times i play strike now is for wow or t6 raids and conti when humans have it, the drop rates are so poor its not worth trying to farm items.

sadly i dont have any idea how to fix dsoma. my only suggestion would have been to take away int from wbm as thats what caused the punching fiasco in the first place as it was the only real reason to punch. but everything seems so far gone that im really finding it hard to find motivation for lvling. it gets me through my nightshift a bit quicker so im still playing a wee bit.

iv got one capped dsoma char and 1 lvl 90+ and 1 80+ and being stuck at the same mob for around 20-25 lvls with each char is getting a bit depressing now

im all for letting hsoma progress while dsoma waits for a fix

You keep making insults about the amount of devils there are... even from day 1 of this server or even from back in esoma there has never been a close usercount between the 2 races...

the reason dsoma *had* so many problems was because it was rushed together with no thought past about level 70.

in a nutshell, from lvl 70 it was wbm until cap. granted we now have hogs and apai, but you still looking majority of your lvling at wbm. they are the fastest mobs to lvl on by a long shot, but also have a terrible drop file with no chance of armor or wep drops. thats a good chunk of your ingame time at a decent lvl with nothing to show for it

Not making insults at all, just stating facts. Id like dsoma to succeed. It just isnt doing as well as hsoma. All im saying is make it a bit more accessible and logical and mayb ud get more players there

theres been shit loads of dsoma content added when you start listing it all...

have to admit.. the best content from my opinion is the tagged weapons! couldn't imagine having a normal grim bow for 30 levels

EB (Altered beasts) they are bad enough... you've a good 30 levels there

but they have a half decent drop file, and its probably your best chance to get decent epic+ wep drops. excluding bosses ofc.

like you say a shit ton of stuff has been added for dsoma and i appreciate it all. its just a shame none of it was around at the start of the server. i appreciate everything thats been added or i wouldnt still be playing :p

anyways lets get back on topic for lvl cap fixes, we could sit all night any say what we wish could have been.

you been capped years longer than me JR and im all ready struggling to find reasons to go hunt, end game content is the key or obviously a cap raise

Just as a quick comment, I think the other sticking point is that it's always nice to have an aim to get something that is within reach rather than just to cap, atm by mid 50's you've hit dev moral, top armour and top weap, that still leaves you with 40+ levels of grind before being able to compete (definitely at gvw/pk) with no other aim than to level up, and based on hours spent reaching cap, lv55 ish is what 25% of the way through the game? probably lower

Thinking about it it's probably closer to 10% as you can easily reach lv50 within about 70 ish hours game play

Couldn't agree more. Hsoma got a load of recoloured dsoma skins for new weps. Even something like this would be nice to aim towards. Some new skinned weps that maybe add class specific stats. Like the Base starting stats make them un upgradable with some rehashed hsoma skins. Like 200 wep skill and 90+ lvl to equip. Just throwing ideas out maybe someone could flesh it out better. Also not able to drop on death. Kind of like dsoma hero weps. Make a drawn out quest to get not just kill x amount of mobs something like weaken quest for dsoma with a few objectives

Still think my idea allows dsoma cap to be done at same time as hsoma, str slow at 300 and powerful offhand items can mean stats aren't 100% decisive and the offhand items can be tweaked to balance it so easily/quickly you could see micro balances every update until dsoma is all fairly even kilter.

The fact hsoma has had TWO new weapon lines added and dsoma still stuck using the same old shite is half the reason for low population.

A lot of time was spent on dsoma for updates to put it in a reasonable condition but that meant we lost content adding for so long. Definitely think dsoma should get re skinned dark red Apus as the next bow. Give sword and axe only a 1h update and force them into one type of set up too much choice at moment and 5th sword with 2h is op and axe 2h is sick Dmg.

While you're at it think about legendary items, saw on the rolling banner that there's been over 49 thousand bosses killed and we've had in total 9-10 leg items? All shit ones too.
