Test Server vs Current Server

I'm sure you've all seen the usercount diminish over the last few months :-(

My thoughts behind this are;

Level cap needs raised as players have nothing left to do -

The Test Server was excellent after BLG for humans. There were loads of great mobs from Vafer Raptors, Elite Bone Golems and pamoths to hunt. There was a good drop rate of CP-E bows and eggpiles and there was a really healthy trade in these weapons which made the server enjoyable and gripping.

Is there any scope to bring these mobs back and get the trading of these weps on the go?

also gms keep turning pk mode off for weeks on end for some strange reason

I've played since Feb I think and it's so so quiet now... I hope it picks up because the fun has gone atm

Ps while there are no players to trade with for items can drop rates be increased slightly to make it bareable?

Soma is a addictive game poeple keep playing as they dont want to fall further behind. Once they stop they stop. I my self have not plaid in over 2 weeks now and dout I will play again soon.

I literally can't be arsed to farm for hours on end just for items that don't seem to even exist and then just to have upgrades that take hours and hours just to break it just simply not worth it, there are hundreds of free games now days that feed what ever fucked up satisfaction I get from playing games

It's difficult to play with an air of uncertainty and dwindling numbers.
I was trying to help folk as much as I could on Dsoma but it's hard to stay active.
Once you decide you need a break finding the impetus to log back on is pretty difficult.

Will always have a soft spot for the game.

I found myself targeting bosses and enjoying it but drops were so poor it was a case of using all your Barr for no reward and no one to trade with anyway.
I'm guessing a similar though process to intheface except he's on a much grander scale.

Once the most dedicated of players begin to feel alienated then the casual ones struggle.

Really hope it picks up soon - whether that's introducing high % drop rate maps for capped chars.

I realize Dsoma Mage is meant to be getting a much needed update... Yes I agree this is overdue but I'd suggest limiting it for now if it's taking a lot of dedicated time away from other areas of developments that would affect more players.

The focus has to be on keeping current payers and bringing back ones that gave up.

(Mass email selling the patch to people etc with list of things to come.)

I'm sure Soma will never die but life support sucks!

Best thing to do is just raise the rates. Raise level cap to 150 and make it a pvp server. Bring abyss back, never turn pk off and make it a PvP server just like the test server. That is what people what. Test server was never dead, but this server is so quiet its unreal.

Agreed, I have been staying positive and kept playing when I can though majority of the time I can log on for an hour and see nobody, I joined hood in helping others too but I found myself giving away a lot of stuff for people to get bored / find it too hard to get bits and give up, it's a well known fact Dsoma drop rates are shocking, I know the early players had it hard but anyone within the last 18 months has managed through being loaned stuff to help them through the levels (me included) I mean if you look at Garg fighters they are the prime example, needing 90 str to hunt but being dropped 42 str armours,
I have killed a fair few bosses recently, not getting much in return but still enjoy it so don't mind too much, issue is with such low numbers at the minute any upgrades i do get I can't do anything with as there are no crafters left, maybe a npc can be introduced to do upgrades? (With a lower success rate than people who have put in the effort for crafting)?
And not sure why pk has been turned off? I know definitely a lot of hsoma log in for that, I visited both gvw in pat week or two, Dsoma had nobody turn up one week and I was told this weeks was 2vs2, hsoma I only saw 2 chars turn up to go against the 4/5 dl defending and a couple weeks ago the player feed showed only 5 deaths at wotw?
Anyway I will keep plodding on so that's one at least ;D just hope others return when updates come in

From a more content-based perspective the test server was a nightmare. There weren't that many types of weapons, just the one you used after a certain point. The mobs were nearly all the same just slightly higher stats than eachother. Armor and weapons were too easy but on the other hand had such a variety of stats that you'd never get a good one. Upgrades were so common that you'd have to go to +5 or higher to be good enough. Oh and don't get me started on DSoma pvp one or two hitting eachother. Punch mages wacking humans to death with their A+ staff!

Anyway back to now. Finito is doing very well on the things he's working on. The lvl cap raise will bring a huge influx of returning players as soon as it launches. I wish I could give you guys a release date but unfortunately that is still impossible.

I hope you're right with the return of players ;D looking forward to it, I better get working on closing that gap
